I manage to get the same or better mpg on e85 that my 04 a4 1.8t quattro is rated for on gas. I can do it because e85 allows me to run the engine more efficiently.

I run my engine at mbt, basically kfzw set to kfzwop but edited for obvious top end efficiency improvements because big turbo. You need to set up dzwola (delta mbt based on lambda) and set kfdzwkg (delta timing based on knock sensitivity for different lambdas) to 0. You need to do this to have your ignition advance vary based on lambda, because different lambdas have different flame speeds. Ive checked out some studies to make my decision on how i set dzwola and ill share my settings attached. Lean e85 mixtures burn slower than lean gas mixtures, but rich e85 mixtures burn faster than rich gas mixtures(i know this is basic but im trying to be thorough).

You need to find and set your default lambda target to something higher but not so lean it misfires. I use 1.2 lambda because its pretty lean and i never have a misfire but i could go higher. It can be tricky to find "the lambda parameter" since its not meant to be changed and isnt in any damos. I have found it in a few files and verified its correct and ill list those addresses below. The only way to find the constant is by looking for patterns in common with one of these known locations which can take time but its worth it. Youll have to raise lamlgmtm too btw.

Offset for lambda - X*0.0002441406

4b0906018dp: 0x5F8B0
b5 s4 m-box: 0x3bfb2

I use multispark to ensure i dont get misfires when running so lean. Just 1 additional spark for anything over 1000rpm and shut off multispark at 2500rpm. Im trying to set fubaof as low as functionally possible to keep the sparks as close together as possible. At 2500rpm with fubaof as low as possible (im using .25ms) and stock ffldz (cant find address) the second spark will happen 23(ish)° after the first one which aint bad. Lowering the dwell time would help narrow the gap between sparks as well as put less stress on the ignition coils. If someone can find ffldz please let me know because i cant find it in any damos.

I disabled bts fueling and use lamfa so i get some enrichment starting at 65% throttle but only as rich as stoich at 99% pedal and dont go full power rich (.85 lambda) until 99% x 3000rpm.

Lean burn raises dynamic compression ratio, reduces pumping losses at the throttle, and results in higher thermal efficiency. It also reduces nox and people dont realize burning ethanol is basically co2 emission free because the corn being regrown consumes a similar amount of co2 emitted from your tailpipe.

I get 24mpg city and 30mpg highway on average. Thats without wot pulls but not exactly driving like a grandma. The car still feels very torquey for a big turbo 1.8t running at 18:1 afr. Im impressed with my results and id like to see other peoples results

Yeah.. If only more countries would have E85 at gas stations.. but that is not case unfortunately.
Good job though.

Im spoiled rotten with e85 stations. Theres 8 in a 15 mile radius here, id hate to move somewhere without it. Let me know if you have an ffldz address though, its wrong in every damos i look at and the one correct address i do have for m box is no help for finding it in my 518ak file

If you are in the market for a tune and would like the ease of downloading and flashing a dyno tested tune for a fair price check out https://instatune.sellfy.store/

ffldz

thats the offset I had already but it looks like random numbers. i think every ffldz in every definition has the same random numbers actually.

Upload the exact bin, would require dissassembly to confirm but you need to fix the address its wrong, there will be 00 08 at the axis start, and after axis there will be a 00 that needs to be skipped and next adress is  the starting the adress that gives proper values.

278BA for 018CA 100%.

is this it?

it doesnt match the one in the second image but i figure a difference should be expected because m box uses different ignition coils
