Hi,

tried to write some ESKONF changes today to a mk4 which i read before with mpps without problems.
I wasnt able to write it with mpps in the car, i wasnt able to write it with eu galletto v53 and i wasnt able to write it with nef.

I used my original vcds in dumb mode because i have no cheap one with ftdi at the moment.
layout should be one of the 800s i thing because its wideband ecu with 1mb file. i tried all.
I could only connect with the dash fuse in it.
It stopped writing with "Erase flash memory routine did not start or complete correctly."

I will remove the ecu the other day and try it without boot on the bench at first.

Should it work with genuine vcds in dump mode?
I have no experience with nefmoto because i use mpps from the start.

I had the same problem with a 032hs ecu 2 days ago. Was able to read the orig with mpps but unable to write back with mpps, nefmoto, or kess v2. I ended up pulling the ecu and bootmode.

Marty is right. Bootmode should do the trick.

My car is an HS and I used to have all sorts of issues with flashing back. It was really luck of the draw through OBD. However bootmode never failed to work.

I think it was my cluster getting in the way of comms... Wired a bypass and I haven't had any issues since. Then again I don't flash too much, got my tune where I want it for the most part.

I've had this happen, even have the car not start after reading ecu. I found unplugging ecu and plugging back in worked. I've had bootmode also not flash. I found out powering pin 121 i believe. That did the trick

MTM Label on the outside. I sorted the "problem" by removing the boards.

Is this a grautec board?

Because the write enable pin isn't connected on most of those pin swap boards?

I wrote a file back to this ECU without the scrambler board and the 16985 error is still there.
What is mtm doing with the eprom?
