Title: Possibly to connect vagcom for recode on bench?
Post by: overclockedpc on August 28, 2015, 03:23:44 PM
I'm wondering if it's possible to recode an ecu on the bench with VCDS/Vagcom? I couldn't get vcds to connect with wiring connected the same way as we would connect for bench flashing.

What would cause a working ECU to boot incorrectly?

Are you powering pin21? You need to on the 1.8t.

Yes sir, power to pin 3,21,62,121, ground to pins 1 and 2 and k line to pin 43.

I successfully flashed the ECU with the same setup.

Tried again and got it working. No idea why or how, but I figured it out and recoded.
