Title: DQ250 CXX Read/Write
Post by: Dave9n3 on July 28, 2020, 03:12:34 PM
Hi,

Currently trying to read original files to make backup of my DQ250 CXX using mini dsg reader.

I’ve created my own adapter to plug direct to the ECU. I am able to ECU ID just fine no issues but when I try to read flash it fails to initialise. I presume the mini DSG reader ID’s using the K line rather than CAN, which leads me to wonder if I need a termination resistor

Does anyone know if I need a CAN termination resistor adding between HI and LO to make it work?

Dont waste your time with the mini dsg reader aka frieling racing spi wizard

Go with the pcmflash and module 58

Might have to, presume PCM flash will read, write and checksum over OBD? I don’t really intend on tuning any others. This is for my brothers car hence I bought the cheapest option thinking i’d only need it once. PCM flash could be useful in the future tho.

If you got a point-to-point connection between DSG and flash-tool, you need to terminate the CAN

Cxx use only k-line for read/write.

Cxx use only k-line for read/write.

Is this the reason why mini dsg reader won’t work - or does it default to read by CAN, so if I connect to the box and force read by k-line it may work?

Cxx use only k-line for read/write.

C11 uses CCP, so you are able to flash via CAN, if you tool supports.

This is a C30  Part number: 02E300043Q Soft: 1305

I tried again direct from mechatronic unit and no luck. Not sure if the mini DSG reader I have is crap or they're all crap. Looks like I'm going to purchase PCM flash when i can find some tactrix openport in stock somewhere!
