Title: Help me tune my e85 Stg 2++ (limp mode sometime)
Post by: A6turbofrance on August 08, 2012, 09:28:45 AM
Hi
Here the story
i have an A6 2.7T from france
original ecu is 4B0907551F
i have flash it with an M-FILE with tweaked MLHFM & MLOFS for bosch maf
i get started with the schell Stg 2++ file for 93 octane
i have tweak KRKTE for my 440cc green giant injectors.
for e85 i have start by tweek 40% more fuel.
Since my injectors is 48% bigger than the oem one, i have just reduce the standard stg2++ by 8% for have the 40% more of fuel.
I have tweak the KFZW/KFZW2 for little more timing at high rev.
I have add the NLS and antilag too...
I have tweak a little the LDRXN_1_A & LDRXNZK for keep a little longer the pressure to 4000 at 5800 rpm.

So for the problem
The car run just fine, but at low load, when i WOT at lov rev for an acceleration , sometime the pressure don't go up 6 psi like a limp mode. if i throttle slowly the car just run fine and boost at my required pressure.
I have try with the standard stage 2++ KFMIRL & LDRXN and i have the same pressure, the problem seem to like at 2000 to 2800 rpm that the rev i got the most time the problem.
Is there an issue to disabled the limp mode ?
i thinks it's a boost mapping problem, i have just check with my STANDARD ECU FILE from the D-BOX and i never got this problem. The car is pretty fast when the problem don't come but i don't find any issue.
I join in file the original file (origine.bin) and my file for help.
please help me i try to find on nefmoto but i have try all i can do for my knowledge, if pro of me7 can take a look i will be so happy my car run hard again.
thanks

xdf or kp file? how do yo  tweek 40% more fuel? maybe too rich between 2000/3000tr

You need wideband to see what is going on.
440cc green giants have different latency characteristics, so it is likely you run too rich at idle and then the ECU can't compensate quick enough on part throttle... Or your long term trims are out of whack.

Doesnt this problem exist with your normal stage 2++ tune?
Are there any fault codes? In limp modes there should be.

40% sounds much. If there arent any other faultcodes, follow Prj´s advice and check afr at first.

did you write the e85 enrichment to your stock file, too? there you can see if its a fueling problem or not, if you have no wideband O2 at hand that fast.

Log some drive and post them.
ME7 logger is fine. Just connect with double slowinit in ignition on, engine not running. then log!
Before every log clear fault codes. :D

hi andi
i can't log my car, no connection from kline when i start the engine.
i thinks a module like abs or radio is guilty but i have not found yet the problem.
stock file is for euro SP95 like your 87 Octane on usa with stock S4 injectors.
tuned file is for e85 with 440cc @ 3 bar green giant injectors.
the problem is the car is pulling very hard when i have not the problem.
i have try to raise ELDROP without succes.
cause i too rich fuelling can cause this kind of limp mode with boost only to 5 psi ?
what are the tables for the maf reading error and for this limp mode ?
thanks

k line problems shouldn't prevent you from pulling codes

Sounds like throttle cut or positive deviation.

Pointless to do ANY TUNING until you can log.

Really. Drop EVERYTHING and make that a priority, or take the car to a professional.

Open your ME7Logger ecu config file.

Set Connect to 0x00:
Code:
Connect      = SLOW-0x00

Now, go into your car, put ignition ON. DO NOT START THE CAR.
Connect with ME7Logger, wait until it starts logging.

Once ME7Logger starts logging, you can start the car. DO NOT TURN THE IGNITION OFF BEFORE STARTING THE CAR.

i just try this weekend your method for log.
I try a new file tonight with TLDOBN maxed and TABLDOBN set to 0 for see if this protection can go out.

i know it's better to use the log for tuning the file.
I have do only change for use with E85 fuel adding more than 40% of fuelling without increased too much the timing.
i just try tonight a file with 35% more fueling than standard, and some protection disabled
i will try the prj method for loging.
i have already try it slow init i can connect when ignition is on , but the connection loose when the engine is running
that look very strange.
i have try unfit the radio like i have read on internet for kline interference but no issue with this.

this is not the way to fix things. NEVER guess, always log. I doubt its OBN related anyway.

Are you throwing codes or not?

Title: Re: Help me tune my e85 Stg 2++ (limp mode sometime)

Do not do any more tuning until

1) you have a way to pull codes completely
2) you have a complete logging setup (not just VCDS)

You need your bin file to create a config file for your car. Without it its impossible to log. This config has to be prepared. Therefore you have to chosse the values you want to log. Read the instruction of the logger. Its very good selfdeclaring.

Without reading it, you might no get any result.

i have test with nmot engine speed ; i still have negociation timing adresse and nothing moove
any help ?

I dont know how far you got. Habe you the config file of ur bin in the logger screen? Then edit config by removing the "semikolon" infront of the values you want to log. Then start logging as told in this thead. Read the logger descriptio carefully. Then it should work easily

If you use an m box file, you have to build a config of the mfile...
Semikolon cest le point virgule?!

are you talking about the log? use ECUxPlot to view log data.

Use ME7Logger by setzi, not nefmoto logger. I don't think nefmoto logger works on euro cars at this point...

ecuxplot is a plotter, not a logger

Have you considered possibly renaming it (maybe LogPlot or something)? I have noticed that people say "ECUx" as shorthand for ECUxPlot, which can definitely lead to some confusion for the uninitiated.

is they are way to know what port by defaut is used with ecuxplot ?

Title: Re: Help me tune my e85 Stg 2++ (limp mode sometime)
Post by: orienz on August 10, 2012, 04:34:42 AM
ecux plot is not a logger, it just draws lots of graphs from the log you already made. Pretty useless program that expects log in given format. You can do all that in excel or something.

excel is junk for this kind of thing.

What other log formats would you like to see supported?

Yes , you can log all you want with VCDS and make other changes or adaptation in your car..

And the resolution (time related) doesnt give you usable logs.

a bad maf can cause this type of limp mode without trowing any cell code ?

yeah i will work on the logging this morning
i have done a new file for startup
all is calibrated for my new fuelling system.
But i need to have my kfmiop modified cause the kfmiop interpelator from bertos don't seem to work on my new version of microsoft excel, i can open it but don't have the new value when generate
can someone modify my file or give me the good kfmiop
i just join my current file project, with the kfmiop interpelator file and the mbox definition file.
it's a 5 mns job but i can't do it cause xmls file seem bug with 64 version of excel.

the row for the interpolator of kfmiop is :
13.50 / 27 / 50.25 / 62.25 / 74.25 / 97.50 / 120.75 / 144.75 / 168 / 191.25 / 219.16

i just fit a brand new bosch maf.
is someone can help me with kfmiop i can try to start login with a good tweaked setup file for my injectors and setup .

...DO NOT TURN THE IGNITION OFF BEFORE STARTING THE CAR.

I guess your warning based on the connection
Code:
SLOW-0x00
instead of normally
Code:
SLOW-0x11
, right? If so, what will happen when ignition turned off before starting the engine? Will the ECU gonna be bricked?

no nothing will brick because your are not writing to the ecu using the me7logger.

do not cycle the ignition because the logger (which is already running at that time) will die

thats all he wanted to tell 11years ago lol
