Seems like every step of the way I've had problems trying to flash my ECU.

I can connect to my ECU to me7 but once I try to do anything, read flash, write flash, log it always gets stuck at "negotiating communication timings"

See what works. This is a common issue.

Set your laptop to not go into hibernation so quickly

You're fine. Just DO NOT TURN THE KEY OFF! Leave it on, restart the computer, and then flash with nefmoto again. Make sure you don't interupt power until the flash has completed.

If you turned the key off, you need bootmode. Also, make sure to leave a battery charger on the car when flashing.

David,

Go and find yourself a Galleto. Even if you were lucky this time, you will need it in the future if you brick the ECU. That and check out the bench harness thread and put one together. These are two crucial pieces of equipment for flashing IMHO...

Good luck. If I was in your area I would help.
