Title: Narrowband to Wideband ECU Tuning
Post by: Jim_Coupe on February 09, 2017, 07:31:57 AM
HI,

Im currently working on my A4 B5 1.8T AEB head+GT28 that i have converted to Wideband ECU. I looked at timing and fueling tables and saw some difference there.. well of course there are some differences my ecu comes from a longitudal engine with VVT but how much can I copy from the old ECU tune?

Timing: I have a timing curve from my old narrowband ECU that im very satified with. Should i use this instead of trying to re-tune the curve that is in the widenabd ECU or is it best to rework the ign table?

Fueling: FKKVS and KFKHFM differs. Can i use the old maps from the narrowband aswell?

Thanks in advance.

Have you converted from AEB (M5.x / M3.8 ) or from ME7.5 narrow to ME7.5 Wideband.

I know for example S3 8L pre facelift is narrowband APY/APX and facelift is wideband AMK/BAM.
They have different mafs and injectors that is the reason why fkkvs and kfkhfm is different.

So what ecu are we talking about?

I copied and pasted my old KFZW from the narrowband ECU to my wideband and also adjusted the axis to be the same.. I get the feling it runns better..
I do get the sense that ignition is not really suited for a BT setup.. The K03/K04 boosts much more in the same area where my GT28 is dead. I guess there is room here to raise ignition.
