Title: Ignition Cut @ Full throttle HELP
Post by: ibizaCUPRA18t on November 22, 2018, 12:35:33 AM
Hi,

I’ve been having a weird issue the past month on my Ibiza 1.8T. It runs fine on low load and ignition timing is perfect on low load areas. However, as soon as I accelerate, motronic system completely retards advance to -1 to 5 degrees and huge power loss. Power is on/off and logged timing advance is low 5s. Current fault codes are none related to sensors.

How do I log to find if its ARMD intervention? Or Torque intervention? Or ESP?

This never happened before, only ever since I went K04 Hybrid.

Pretty much all of your questions are covered in the wiki.

Post logs.

Hi Nyet,

Thanks for replying, here attached some quick logs I did at the testing place. They're done with VCDS because I can't get logger to work, however they show clearly whats happening with Ignition Advance. Its fluctuating even more severely than on your or julex's post. As soon as I floor it on 1st gear, it starts cutting ignition to atdc and completely stops the car. I am very doubtful its ESP related, it happens with esp off.

I think also finding KFDMDARO and the related maps will be a challenge for me, haven't trained my eye for these. Here also my BIN.

attach your ecu file aswell.

On my car/ECU fluctuating ignition means ignition retards triggered by knock detection.

Knock.

No, car is not knocking... knock retard is -3 and -4 max.
This is something special like armd and i will be testing it today with armd off

Its 0.1 from 7050 to 7120 for hardcut. Not the issue here...

stop whatever you are doing and get ME7Logger working, or you are wasting your time...

I have a VCDS 178 Clone cable sitting there that is in working condition but I have tried to get ME7Logger working with it and have failed... the system does not connect at all. I just gave up after that because I didn't have much time to deal with it. Have customers coming in and out every moment. Need maybe a Sunday to solve this and get some good logs. I just need a better explanation on how to find out of my cable is compatible.

Wow bro thanks! I thought you were talking about KFTSRL I used for hard-cut limiter... WOW Did I really do 0.1 from 5,000 rpm? I must've mixed it with KFTSRL by accident and this could be the problem with my ignition cutting of course...

Problem with ignition solved guys! I just fixed the KFZST problem and disabled ARMD to make sure I am fine with that since its only a drag/track car not road-legal at the moment.

Now having issues with revving at idle. If its sitting and 800RPM at idle and you suddenly floor it - it starts to drop revs and almost die then recover and go full throttle. Basically fuel doesn't follow quick enough when I hit the throttle. ONLY happens while sitting at idle rpm. MAF is 3" values copied from S3 BAM, injectors are 470cc vauxhall opc (using 386cc TVUB since I haven't found voltage specs for 470s)

This wasn't happening on 386 @ 4 bar injectors. Had k04 stock turbo, now its hybrid. Should I look more into maf scaling or try to get those injector voltages? I will also try doing a throttle body adaptation although I'm more suspecting its a fuel issue. High rpm high load it rips all day long.

Stop running away doing hard-cut and all the other cool things when you haven't even got it running right yet.

Logs?

Haven’t had time to test the hybrid setup yet. Too much work on my shop and car is not road legal. Once I get melogger setup I will post logs, otherwise I just get ignored with vcds logs. But I’m certainly sure my low ignition problem was either ARMD or KFZST values. Logs coming soon I just need a compatible cable.

First You have 1.8t and You must log car in the best way by me7logger.
Your tune is bad.
You copy some values and You thinking thats all will be ok. NO.

If You changed maf, You changed, i think intake... You should correct fueling for intake difference. KFKHFM.
470cc injectors... what p/n? Copy TVUB voltages and axis from Vauxhall file. Correct KRKTE by difference.
Check by logging lambda, that actual follow reqested. If not, fight with KRKTE.
Finally log fr_w, tevkage, nmot in ME7LOGGER and correct FKKVS table by FKKVS Fixer.
After this make mods with boost/ignition angle/torque monitoring.

x1000000

Stop messing around with LC etc. One thing at time. The number of simultaneous things you are trying to juggle is pure insanity, especially if you are inexperienced.

Its a mistake, not a bad mod. Accidentally touched the wrong map.
