I have had so many occasions as I have gone through my research on this board where I come across parameters that I do not find in any XDF file that I have. Does anyone out there have a properly up to date file that they are willing to share? I see so many parameters being thrown around on such a free sharing board that I find it odd that there isn't a sticky of some sort of the most up to date definition file.

Up to date sticky? Not sure what you are looking for. There are many, many different ME7 files. If we were to sticky them all, you wouldn't be able to find anything.

I appreciate the reply. For an example I have been trying to look into torque monitoring and the impact of KFMIOP vs KFMIRL, and have seen that disabling torque monitoring requires settings TANSMN to -48C. I see multiple people commenting on trying this yet no definition file that I have come across has this address located. Another example would be disabling emissions equipment. There are a number of terms on the wiki that are included "for completeness" yet I also do not find any of them in definition files (only tuned files from others). It may be newb of me, and I do know of the definition section of the board, just through my searching I have yet to come across one that includes these terms (let alone others that I see described from time to time).

By the way that comment you quoted wasn't a knock, this board is a huge asset to the community, I just simply haven't found a concise 551 XDF, just multiple ones listed with varying parameters addressed in each.

That was just an example of what I have seen missing. I am very much trying to learn, but while reading about torque intervention I realized that this was missing and yet others have disabled it.

Thank you very much for your help, your posted definitions are incredible. Does your "G" box file apply to L box bin addresses? It is obviously in German, but it certainly contains far more than I have ever come across and therefore would work for finding address locations of maps that I see described.

They are generally close (within 100 bytes of each other, sometimes much closer), but not the same. Also *there are errors* in many of the damos defs floating around. You have been warned...

You'll have to use winols (connect windows) shift offsets around until things line up in the areas you are looking for.

That is how my first Mbox def file was created. Others (like prj and setzi) have written much more sophisticated algorithms that look for specific ASM patterns to find map (and ram) locations automatically.

I have zero experience with defining xdf files of mine own. I would love to learn, and am very much trying. Is there a good "XDF's for dummys" page out there? This has always been something I wanted to learn.

I think there is a lot of general information on xdfs on the tunerpro site.

Really, comparing maps to find similar patterns isn't that hard... and it applies to pretty much all types of .bins, so it isn't ECU specific at all.

Absolutely, this isn't my first experience using tunerpro. Another instance I had was tuning a TCU for another car that I had. A friend of mine located the addresses of key line pressure maps, but he does it as a side business so he didn't share "HOW" he found them. I am very much interested in learning, but do not have the background to know where to go to find the answers.

This is the xdf I use on my car. I simplified the emissions deletes to make things easier before I had the acronyms memorized. Maybe it'll help you.

I think the "problem" lies with you using XDFs. I don't think there many, if any fully defined XDFs, but there are multiple fully defined .OLS files available.

This could be remidied if somebody wants to help develop ecuxplot, which has a kp parser in it.... problem is, it only works on a very old version of .kp

Also, it would be REALLY nice if somebody helped me write an ASAP2 writer

a much, much bigger job, but it could be used to help import xdfs into winols by converting them to ASAP2 first.
