Hi Everyone

Im A newbie here!
I am very interested in learning how to live tune and car to get the most out of it but safely.
We have too many sh1t tuners in my country thats why im doing it  Grin

The first question I have is...
I have a standard bin file from my car...
I have a tuned file on my car.
So... how do I read off the tuned file to compare it to the stock file?

If its sh1t then why do you want to read and compare?

You should search and read the forum before you ask questions like this, as all the info is there.

The reason I am asking is because I am new to this and dont know the terms used to describe what im asking (this I will learn as I go along) anyway, I have searched a few things and havent found any posts on them becuase like I said above i am obviously not using the correct terms.

Even though the map is sh1t it is stil a tuned map so I would like to see what changes were made to file compared to the stock file. Just for my own info.

Why? If it is tuned incorrectly, everything you will see (or won't see) will just lead you on the wrong path.
Start from scratch, from a standard file with small changes, and understand WHY you are making each change.

Ok I will do that  Wink
My next question is, if I want to flash the ecu with a new file, will it overwrite the current one or brick the ECU?
My ECU is ME 1.5.5 from a Z20LET Opel astra.

Good luck trying to live tune that ECU  Grin

First remove it from the car, then ***try*** to open it without breaking anything, and then go chip hunting. Once you figure out that the ECU has no external chip, then you tell me how you want to live tune it, and what you actually mean by that.

Ok but a file was loaded to the car while the ecu was in place. All I want to know is will overwriting that file with a new one brick the ecu?

"Live tuning" is tuning the car with the engine running.

Flashing the ECU is not "live tuning".

If you are scared of "bricking the ECU" and do not have a backup mechanism (I am not familiar with this particular ECU, whether it has JTAG, BDM, Boot mode and so on), then better not touch it.

ME1.5.5 is a "hybrid" ecu, which needs a microscope to find the boot pin in the processor. Failed flash doesn't crash the ECU, it will recover although with 50% the flashing speed, but do be careful when messing about with it, I can show how to crash this ECU so it cannot be recovered in any way, and its actually "easily" doable by accident.
