Sometime ago I found the ECU pinouts for the ECU of the 2000-2002 B5 S4. I used it recently to trace a couple of bad wires. One was the oxygen sensor heater wires and the other the engine speed sensor. In the process I verified several of the pins that were noted on the table in that PDF. Those are:

- oxygen sensors lambda and heaters
- engine speed sensor signal wire (white wire on a gray 3-wire socket, driver's side)
- signal to variable timing (the tensioners on both banks driven by the same pin)
- power output stage wires (6 in total) from ECU to Ignition Control Modules (IGM)

Whoever did the work, I would like to thank.

I have some suggestions to improve the semantics. The explanations of what each pin connects to should be reworded.

If anyone has verified the ECU pinouts for any other B5 car ECUs, please let us know. I have a CH box A4 (2001.5 1.8T) and I would like to know.

If you are referring to this post: http://www.nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=59.0

I wrote that up a few years ago, and then Camden put it into a PDF.

I should really put this info on the wiki.

Yes! Many thanks.

As we keep running into trouble with any cars around here we will be building such tables, just as you did. I found that it helps greatly to verify items that come from unknown sources, even if they cite that "some technical document" was guiding the process.

As for suggestions, the abbreviations of the colours of the wires are poor. I do not know if "ge" is "grey" if ones assumes that "gr" is "green" and so on.

There are some vague descriptions. For example, the oxygen sensor signal wires are indicated as "oxygen sensors" while the "oxygen sensor heater" wires are self explanatory. In this case if it is not one it is the other, but you know what I mean. A similar comments goes with the injector wires. By the way, it is useful to know that it fires (stays open) for as long as the voltage is zero. That is an interesting fact.

I got all of the connection info and wire colors from the Bentley and Haynes manuals, so that is where the color abbreviations come from. So yeah, like you found, it could be clearer.

It would make sense for me to put this on the wiki, because then people could add info, and clarify it.

Cool.

And I agree with the Wiki idea. I am all about wiki type sites.
