Title: ME7.5.10 ECU Fail Flash
Post by: JBL-GG on May 03, 2012, 06:02:09 AM
Hello everyone,

ive got a big problem, i yesterday had a fail-flash at an

skoda octavia 1.4 - 75hp - my 2004 with the ME7.5.10 ecu.

now i try to fix the ecu, cause car is needed urgent,
but do i "only" have to programm the AM29F... chip
or does the 95040 also have any influence to the
"bricked" ecu...

If yes, does anybody have the ori file from such an 95040?

Thx in Advance, Kind Regards

not 100% on this but just need to boot mode it (open the ecu up etc)  load your flash that way

Only flash the 29F800 in boot mode on table and it should be OK.

thx mates, but i allready tried with bootmode and nothing happens :(

pin 24 is permanently connected to my gnd (pontenza) and i tried to flash
it using mpps already in recovery mode, nothing happened do i have to make special
setiings like recovery, bench or full read - k line only etc.

is it possible to flash it with galetto too, is there another option that can flash this ecu,
like bootmode from an 1.8 20vt with AM29F800 chip... ?

do i have to connect can high and low also to benchflash, cause this should just be a kline
flash or?

is there any special way to entering/using boot mode - which i dont know?

thx to everyone in advance
kind regards

Try this boot layout, if you do all right it should work..

If you permanently wire pin24 to ground you will have cpu that won't work.

you only ground pin24 WHILE you are booting; that pin is actively used by the ECU while it is running.

thx, to everyone - flashing in bootmode @ car through obd is working, but
VCDS dont finds the ecu and im also not able to start the car.

tried already 2 files, chksum should be okay too...

does the ecu have to be closed (phisically) and does the ecu maybe has
to sit in her right place... i mean is something managed by x-y sensors,
caused by security reasons or so?

thx, have a nice weekend

I do boot stuff always on table with stable voltage. Firstly, connect all wires, then give only ground (not 12V) to the ECU as you are booting too. Wait about 10 seconds, then remove boot pin and give +12V and ECU should be operative.

Skoda Octavia 1.4 Petrol - 75hp - Mc: BCA, ME7.5.10

And this is why before flashing anything, especially on another person's car you get the tools and knowledge required for the doomsday scenario.
You have no damn clue what you are doing and how things work.

Easiest way for you - ask a professional tuner to desolder the AM29F800BB, flash it in programmer, and solder it back, or flash it in boot mode.
Any tuner worth his salt will have all the equipment and knowledge to do this.

Harder way - look at the wiki on this site. It basically spoon-feeds you all the info you need to bench flash the ECU.
No, a MPPS Clone won't do, you need Galletto. Or better, Byteshooter.

@prj

i know you mentit in a nice way, but ive already done a lot of ecus successfull incl.
some ecu repairs, where others would have changed the ecus cause they haid dtcs
like P0605 and so on...

but i reflashed it allready using galetto in boot mode, data is stored there and i
also have the equipment to programm it desoldered, but that not the problem why
cars not starting - i think the 95040 has to do with my problems - i have new spares
at home but im unable to programm it successfull :((

Hi,

Which version of MPPS do you use?  And did you read it out in bootmode via mpps Generic menue ?

@prj : why do you think mpps isn't capable of doing a bootmodeflash ?  I tried V3 and V12, and
they both worked (when no issues where there, like the OP has now)

It can flash on bench, but there is no option for boot mode.
Or maybe I just don't know how to use it? Could you tell me what you select and where?

@pvl

I also think that theres just the option for a bench-flash and not for a bootmode - flash
as prj already said.
