Title: Dsg Dq250 KessV2 Error
Post by: K-Performace on March 12, 2024, 02:55:03 PM
Hello, I have a big problem and I hope someone can help.
I've already written my Dsg Dq250 a few times with kessv2, but this time there seemed to be a problem. Kess showed me that the ECU was written correctly, but the DSG is no longer recognized by the car and when I switch it on I only hear a clicking noise that is repeated 5 times. it can no longer be reached. It also no longer finds VCDs.

probably CKS error... I guess bench or at last case boot to recover

What type is your DQ250?
If it's Cxx, you're fucked.

Otherwise buy PCMFlash and this module:
https://ecutools.eu/chip-tuning/pcmflash/module-58/

Also problem is not checksum. It will go to bootloader with wrong checksum.
The problem is you screwed up some axis or definition of a map.

For dq250 checksum doesn't matter.
I think you interrupt the writing or you flash it with other firmware from other dq250 mechatronic model. For first option you can recover in boot mode , for second....throw it to the trash.

Not correct info
Exx, Fxx and MQB can always be recovered in boot if they were flashed by OBD.
Interrupting flashing - nothing happens. ECU goes to bootloader.

In his situation the checksum is correct, but the content of the OBD flashable ECU areas is not.
It tries to boot but crashes over and over again, in this case possible only boot recovery. But for CXX there are no boot protocols in any tool, so that one goes to trash.

I/O Terminal claims it can do a full read from CXX MPC555 versions. Not sure if this is still working if tcu is already bricked. Anyway it´s also possible to r/w CXX via BDM, but for sure you need to open it. Seems it´s a foil pcb with bondings etc, so maybe it´s broken after opening...

Yeah it's certainly possible to BDM it, but probably beyond the guys skill level.
If IO Terminal has implemented SBOOT on CXX then that's a reasonable way to do it.

In the end, used mechatronic units like these are cheap these days.
If you brick a CXX, might as well just get a EXX or FXX instead. If you'd get a new one from the dealer it'd be an EXX or FXX anyway.

I don't think you can do that - it will probably not complete the write.
