I'm going to go ahead and say no. Other people have said it works if you code out the EGT's, but it didn't work well at all when I tried it.

Didnt work right had scary results. Car did start and idle fine, boost was all over the place was logging at the time and n75 went from 0 to full and boost, but car over boosted. look for auto a6 ecus... cheaper 100% compatible

ah so not sure what the ECU part numbers are for the other A6s are, im assuming the other option is the 2.8 motor.   Will that ecu work?  (What type is the 4b0 ecu as I see they are called M K L boxes..)

So still not sure..
can I put in an ecu from lets say A6 2.8 motor or do I need the ECU from a 2.7? (want to reflash it with modified firmware).

How are you still not sure? 2 people just said that no, you cannot use a 2.8 ecu.

I have also went down the 2.8 ECU road.
I had the same issues with the N75.

Just curious what you ended up doing?

So if I got it right, I gotta stick to 4B0 907 551... but only a select few as mine is a Q..

Any of the APB engine code ECU's will work just fine if you are going to change the ecu contents anyway. The parts number just shows what software is on the ecu. Look in the list Nyet posted, They are listed by engine code too. APB is what you need.

sorry for the stupid questions as I am learning this whole thing :D
so I have a 4B0 907 551 Q ECU and dumped the BIN.  now my goal is to edit out the rear O2 Sensors and possibly the EGTs.  Not sure what Definition file I should use as I see some for an 8B0 or Allroad...  I want to keep the immobilizer but can also get an 4B0 907 551 L ECU. (would that do me any good?) Looking for some pointers to get me going on this.

Don't hate me :)

THanks!
