if you're not first, you're last

« on: November 22, 2012, 02:41:51 PM »

Got a spare 4Z7 907 551 S ME7.1.1 ECU and I am trying to get IMMO turned off, was successful to get a EEPROM dump with ArgDub's ME7_95040 - EEPROM tool. Looking at the dump file with the hex editor in TunerPro, I am not finding anything in the search on which values to change. Any help would be much appreciated.

I tried the clone route and this is the error that comes up when I try and read out data from the ECU installed in the car. There was no point reading to a file because it fails every time, so I printed contents to screen instead.

Ver: 1.31

Baud Rate: 10400
Opening COM4 ... OK
Initiating communication ... OK
ECU ID response: 4Z7907551R

                 SoftCod: 07755, WSC: 21583
Reading EEPROM ..............................................................FAIL. (error=0x01)
Closing COM4

Here is the read data log from the bench (spare) ecu
Ver: 1.31

ECU installed in the car is a 551S box with a 551R.bin file with SAI removed.

Have you tried bootmode?

Yes, boot mode works with the spare ECU and I can write to it under that mode. I didn't save a log for that process though. I used APR's IMMO clone software also with no success. It threw a fit when I tried to write data saved from the car ECU to the bench ECU. I realize these files mean nothing because of their format, but I have attached them anyway.

Not quite, on the to-do list. I had my original ecu tuned, this is just a spare to tinker with.

22 +1
