Title: Current for ICM modules on older engines
Post by: BlackT on December 04, 2019, 11:19:12 AM
Tomorow I will make little ECU for controling ignition on audi B4 2.6. It uses standard ICM module like AEB and rest of VW cars.
Some years ago I mesured voltage on ICM input with osciloscope, and it didnt go right away on 5 V, it take some tome to raise. I will post picture later it will be more clear what I talk about.
But does anybody know what is resistor betwen ICM model and driver in MCU?

The resistor from ECU to ICM is about 20 ohms, i put on my electronic 22 ohms and it is workinh like original.

I put rev limiter to cut spark at set RPM, it cut spark and it is working, but there is no bang and flames like on 1.8T or 2.7biT
Is this beacuse of timing, or that this engine is 2 Valves per cilinder and 2.7 is 5V, or for that it doesne't have turbo on it? Or all this things together?
