Title: mk5 gti 2.0 tfsi remapping BOSCH MED 9.1
Post by: nitmat_2922 on October 20, 2018, 10:01:38 AM
Hi there  :) ;D,
just started learning some tuning stuff as a hobby and wanted to know which open source software i can use to download the map file from the ecu and which software can be used to do some editing to it. I have a downpipe and a cold air intake but car is on stock map. Its a manual with a BOSCH MED 9.1

Unfortunate  for you none has released a open flasher for med9. I use kess and ktag master for the most part. I like kess because it can recover threw port flash if you ever have a issue and it does checksums for just about any vag car. Mpps v13 and v16 clones are really crappy for med9 I've had a few brick using mpps v13 and mpps v16 is unstable and has a tendency to crash unexpectedly. Mpps clone v18 seems to work good I've flashed med9 without issue but I have limited hands on with that exact clone because I use my legit tools for the most part

You're in the minority. MPPS v13 and v16 are stable as a wood burning stove on MED9. They'll also recover easily up the port, as will pretty much any tool that writes to that ECU.
