Hi!
I've been searching the forum, but I cannot seem to find any answers for my problem.
I've been trying to read the flash on my 4d0907558a EURO A6 C5 4.2quattro, but i just get the Disconnecting because no response was received for the Tester Present message.
I have powered up the 121 pin, and i can successfully read a 4b0906018dc (A6 1.8T immo deleted by me) ecu I have laying around
I have read the eeprom with Argdubs ME7 program, and removed the immobilizer sucsessfully.
I have tried different baudrates with no luck.
With Argdubs program, I needed to read the eeprom in bootmode, it would not read i OBD mode.
I have tried to connect in bootmode in Nefmoto aswell, but with no luck...
I'm using a genuine ross tech hex+can cable.

Anything I might have missed?

You don't need a galletto cable, any ftdi will work you just may have to modify the galletto exe

Thanks!
I tried to read in bootmode with galletto today, but I could not connect.
And since then I can not connect it in any way, not VCDS, not with Argdub me7 program.
Is this symptoms of a bricked ECU, or is it totally fubar?
Fortunately this is a spare ECU for experimenting before trying to flash the one sitting in my car...

If you didnt try to write to it then no its not bricked... Just disconnect the battery for a minute with the lights on and then off you go. did you get it into boot mode? It its going into Fan high speed mode?

Thanks!
I´ve never had this ecu in a car, just on my bench.
Will try to wire up a bulb on the same power supply and disconnect it.
I believe i got it into bootmode, I used the same procedure as I did when I used Argdubs program, negative on pin 24, power on, wait five seconds and remove the negative on pin 24.

Ah bench. Bootmode keep the negative on the pin 24 and just start the read in bootmode. you should have better luck. once you see it connect then take the pin off ground. Some of the ECU's are a PITA.

this is generally not a great idea since the bootmode pin is shared with a address/data pin on the flash itself.

the cpu is either in bootmode, or not, well before you start the transfer.

Sorry guys, mega noob time...
I`ve downloaded galletto and installed it one more time, I got it here http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=3088.0
And I try to edit the hex in .exe with the hex editor to match the serial number of my interface, but when i save, the changes in the .exe files does not stick...
Is the file copy protected in some way or something? (so sorry about the stupid questions, I`m more of a hands on mechanical kind of guy...)
