Hi,

stumbled over a strange mk4 lately.
Engine and loom is AUM with wideband and vvt but ecu is 06A906032AR from ARZ engine with non-wideband and non-vvt.
I did not check for other differences between the two engines.

The car is running and block 31 does show voltage (non wideband) instead of lambda (wideband).
This is what impresses me most.

Is 6pin wideband backward compatible with 4pin non-wideband sensor?

Why wouldn't it run? I'm sure your block 031 shows gibberish instead of plausible narrowband voltages, 6 pin WBO2 is NOT backward complatible with narrowband O2 sensors.

I have no logs because I have a boost gauge (makes things easier)

Don't do that, you will burn something in ECU or WBO(IF you already didn't)
Pin 5 on WBO ECU is for heating probe,
And Pin5 on narowband is connected to lambda output
Pin70 on WBO is for pump curent
Pin70 on narowband is heating element
That is a really big mess for lambda control in ECU
