I would think they are both even-fire so shouldnt matter.

I think it would be better to run a 24v ecu on a 12v that way you gain wideband and wideband beats map sensor.
Maybe I'm just not understanding the goal?
I once had a vw motorsports 24v ecu from a cup car than ran on all 12v hardware, and it ran good.

yea or run the vw motorsport turbo software with N75/Pressure Sensor/EGT Control

You realise the S4 has a 90 degree bank angle and the VR6 has a 15 degree bank angle so you'll have to account for that with the ignition timing.

Why would that make a difference, still have a 4 stroke 6 cylinder engine.  1 ignition event every 120 degrees of crank rotation.
