Title: Coding automatic TCU
Post by: itemonsale on November 09, 2014, 08:44:09 PM
My current ride is a 02 Audi 1.8t A4 with 8E0909518F manual Transmission, I plan to swap in a auto(non-cvt) into my car . now my question is can I use my current 518F ECU with a donor Auto ECU(what Auto ECU I can use)? I found plenty of thread swapping auto to manual and using the VAGCOM to code the module, is it the same procedure to do it backward?

Yes I know i know it is wise to just sell the manual and get an auto but, I am doing this for my own reason. Thank you in advance.

That file can be coded auto as well.

When it comes to flash I have to code 518F for a 518F Ecu, but what about the TCU? does it have to match 518F ? can you briefly guide me on this?

By the way can I use a 518AK ECU to use on my 518F chassis?

Thank you!

You want tcu number 8E0927156A. I have one if you want it, 80 bucks shipped. Your 2002 is best served by a 518F ecu.

Yes I will take it, PM me for the pay pal plz .

Can you briefly give me a guideline on how to get from Manual to Auto.

code the ECU ( From Manual to Auto to accept TCU installed)
code the TCU ( VIN , what else? )

What else I need to do in order to complete the coding process

I have a donor ECU out of a 518AK, can I physically swap the ECU to my 518F? ( just a spare, that's all)

PM sent.

But yes, just code the ecu tiptronic (2nd to last digit from 0 to 5). TCU won't need to be coded, but cluster will (CAN gateway).

Adaptations, channel 60 gets incremented by 2.

Use the 518AK ECU that ECU can be coded for 5 speed tiptronic trans, The 518F ECU cannot. You will need to copy the immo from the 518F to the 518AK ECU. Or, immo off in 518AK.

Use the 518AK ECU that ECU can be coded for 5 speed tiptronic trans, The 518F ECU cannot.

That is incorrect.

Allowable variants for coding the 518F binary are as follows:
