Title: 1.8t timing retard
Post by: OTO on May 22, 2016, 01:48:38 AM
Hi
Car is audi a4 1.8tq 2002 me7.5 8e0909518m.
Stock turbo died and i replaced it with saab aero td04hl-15t. Injectors are ev14 550cc and i use e85.

Problem is random timing retard +4500rpm. it doesn't happen every wot pull and this is only time that i get it on log.

What causes it?

Are these random runs that have the pull always made in the same way? For instance after the engine has had a chance to cool down, or recover?

Usualy 3 rd gear and first wot pull after steady driving.

I just noticed that it does it also other gears but lot smoother so it won't feel so bad.

If you adjust the ME7.5 ECU with a Lemmiwinks or UniSettings software, it does not work well.
Do not use it! This program is designed for ME7.1.

to me it looks like level 1 torque intervention, the ecu tries to get boost back down by retarding the timing because you've got massive overshoot @2700 RPM :)

Yep, look at that actual boost spiking vs. desired. Looks like its struggling to control the turbo. What wastegate are you using on saab turbo?
