I have read 100's of threads about galletto and putting my car in boot mode. after 2 days of trying i figured I ask for help.

I have a 2001 WBE Jetta 1.8t

removed fuse 11 and 15
I soldered 1k ohm to pin 24-connected to mass,
turned ignition to on.
waited 5 seconds removed ground,
started galletto 1260
tried to get ECU Data but got error Boot mode inactive.

ECU:

06A906032 DL
BENZIN ME7.5 0003
26SA7257 1159 0122
MOTRONIC 00-12-05

Any thoughts?

I don't remember anything about using a resistor on pin 24. Did you try straight to ground?

I usually remove the ecu when doing a boot mode on the 06A ecu's. I don't have any exp doing them while still in the car. Hopefully someone else on here may be able to help.
