hello all
I have just replaced my 2002 golf 4 gti AWP engine with a AGU after it went kaput!
of course I have DTC for VVT open connection and not often SAI incorrect flow (SAI readiness fails too). however before I consider coding out the SAI and VVT, I want to know whether it will be simpler and possible to flash a AGU ECU bin to my original ecu 06A906032HF?
if so what will be the downsides? (at moment i'm all for stock running)
thanks for your help.

If the AGU file is the same bootroom and wideband flash it with the AGU File.

sorry guys... was offline for some few days.
thanks for your replies, however judging from it I think this way will not be that easy and would be for the experts!
I'm a newbie and will therefore rely on you to help me turn off/on the required bits.
can I upload my ecu bin for you to show me the location of the bits to work with? I can locate the ESKONF bits but having difficulties with the rest

All you have to do is 0 CDNWS

Which is located @ 0x181AF

I attached your file with the change made.

Needs ESKONF to prevent the code from not having VVT plugged in as well.

Change 10C53 from 30 to 33 and you're done.

I think you have to tweak something a little because of the small and big port cylinder heads.  Huh

@aef...yeah  but for now car runs okay without major issues. however fuel trims at a constant 0% with vag com block 32. i'm suspectimg the vvt open circuit fault code and SAI not setting in readiness may be having some effect on the fuel trims reading. hope to move from there when the trims start reading.

I checked my bin file and could locate the bit 30 at 10C52. 10C53 is 3F.  is 10c52 the correct bit to change in my file?

greets guys!

flashed the bin as mpdified by vdubnatic and changed bit 30 at 10C52 to 33. the vvt dtc and the sai not passing readiness was still appearing.
made a couple of changes later to the bits at 181B0 and 181A-8,9,A,B (suggestions I read ). after flashing, sai readiness now passed, evap readiness passed, no vvt error after resisitoring, fuel trims now working.
however I have the SAI pump still running and the high rpm at cold start, oxygen sensors and cat tests either not starting or not ending!
any suggestions? I've attached the last file I flashed.
