Title: Battery charger? Post by: Sugar_Mist on March 25, 2016, 11:20:55 AM What battery maintainer is recommended for reading/flashing? I have .75 amp trickle charger will that be enough or do I need more power?

Normally battery chargers output voltage is 15+v and have seen first hand fdi chips fail from higher then average battery voltage. As nye said use a 12v power supply not a battery charger

12V/1000mA (Stabilized DC) would be fine on the bench. (As nyet already said) For flashing in car I would go for something that can deliver higher current - although ME7 is quite forgiving and recoverable. V110 used a battery charger and was able to read and flash is polo so that's what I'm going to do.

If your battery is in good condition, you don't absolutely need a charger (although it's good practice to have one connected).
