Title: Vag skoda fabia 1.9 BLT pd130 now 215 Post by: upsidedave on April 04, 2016, 02:22:58 PM Hello people,
i wanted to make a post as i have found this site to be .... well awesome tbh, a basic background, mechanic, panel beater, and last few years self taught diagnostics and still learning, and now been playing with vag clusters I've made the screen say "def" more then a dozen times, thats how you learn, backup's will SAVE YOU lol, Any way this is about a Skoda fabia vrs 1.9 pd130 BLT EU4 6 speed (2 boxes were fitted, this one had the shorter final gear version), except for the bits i will explain shortly everything is stock. Ok when we got the car it was producing more power then it should of worked out the last owner got a bad tune without dyno etc) and it was suffering head lift, that is due to the crap metal mixture they used making the head bolts (always change these with pd150 ARL head bolts as a minimum requirement) you loose coolant but no emulsion in the oil, gas test coolant etc comes back as normal, thats because under heavier boost situations the head bolts actually streach ever so slightly and ever so slight amouth of coolant exits thru the combustion process, but not enough of a breach for the exhaust gases to enter the coolant system, also the turbo was a naff KKK (thats how you get that spec of car cheaper compaired to polo golf etc) we skimmed the head as head lift and a bad tune ended up warping it, Put a garrett gt1749vb turbo on it, a intercooler that was a about 6-8 times bigger then stock ( imagine a full size uk number plate, put 4 on top of each other and that is deffo the size of the core of the inter cooler), A stright thru stainless exhaust with de-cat and egr blank, we then dropped it in to a mapper at scm and he tuned it too 215bhp and 320 ft torque, Its a wild animal, he could of tuned it with more power but then getting very close to the tolerances that the stock components can handle he dyno'ed it multiple times to get it nice and pukka, i must mention its fuel system was run thru with terraclean, 4 times i was a bit of a skeptic but it saved one injector from replacement, and tbh its bloody good stuff, (esp seeing measuring blocks before and after) some surly will have a different opinion but different strokes for different folks, if you know what your looking at you see all sorts of very positives gained after a terra rather then without, The plastic boost pipe from the asv valve down to map sensor is swelling under boost but a half decent replacement is a easy fix also if you add a pd160 air intake pipe and grill you can boost alot more as she can take a deeper breath, but i heard my friend had a little bump in it and it wont be road legal again (as far as i know at this point) so i'm gonna be disecting that car as its gonna be reborn as a hardcore rally toy, as we are in wales its ideal, So i'm gonna download the flash and eeprom from the ecu and the cluster, i have a couple of cluster backup of those clocks anyway, i will put them up once i got them gonna see if i can put a few pics up soon, Before and unfortunately after. hope this is of some intreast or help to you peoples, take it easy, Upside Title: Re: Vag skoda fabia 1.9 BLT pd130 now 215 Post by: nyet on April 04, 2016, 03:29:19 PM holy wall of text batman

Title: Re: Vag skoda fabia 1.9 BLT pd130 now 215 Post by: upsidedave on April 05, 2016, 12:03:03 PM Your completly correct there, it was a slight custom turbo i believe
It was sold as a hybrid version so guts of it were ment to be different?? But i couldnt tell ya even if i was looking at it tbh lol The next stage was/may still be a gtb turbo, not greatly researched it yet but bb is the only way forward with this car and turbo, For some reason some 1.9 pd's like to bent the number 4 conrod, Which makes the bottom of the piston head hit the reluctor ring on the crank shaft Breaking only one tooth off but that causes a non start, And thats before any tuning as i've seen it too many times over the years And the stealers only sell conrods in sets of 4 (arghh) lol Obd's etc say crankshaft sensor inconsistant, thats cause its loseing count as a tooth missing Complete bottom end rebuild That is stock pd130's and pd150's I mention that because other then the obvious upgrades needed to the gearbox, clutch, and brakes It would have a complete performance uprated crank/rods/piston heads, valves, race PD injectors, cam, to see more crazy figures If he does go for it there is no way in hell it will be road legal so big fields are.the way to go lol There is a firm over this way in the uk, for vag stuff called darkside development And give them there dues they know what they are on about Ordered a few times from them and i had to return one item It was a oil cooler and i had no problems at all via there process, once they had it back they sent the refund back to the bank, But i always say other peoples experience may differ lol Title: Re: Vag skoda fabia 1.9 BLT pd130 now 215 Post by: IamwhoIam on April 05, 2016, 12:32:31 PM wut?
