I wanted to inform you gentlemen that daz or Ddillinger on this forum has passed away.  I'm not to sure of the details but his Facebook page confirms it.  May he rest in peace and I'm sure the guys on here that can tune a Bosch ECU from scratch can understand that this loss is that of a unique individual.

He may have been bitter to some of us sometimes, but he always was willing to help.

That is terrible. He was the most helpful person on most of these forums. He had helped me on passatworld audizine and here countless times over the past 5 years. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

This is a massive loss to us all, my thoughts go out to his friends and family. So sad :-(

As a lurker, I always looked forward to reading posts by Ddillinger. His comments were interesting, informative and helpful where ever he posted. His unexpected passing is a big loss, IHMO. My condolences to his family and friends.

I was first hoping it was just a bad joke.
But it appears that it is a hard reality. Way to young (Daz was 30 or so).
Daz most often cited character trade was HELPFUL (should be his middle initial). That is also how I met him when he injected himself when he found me struggling; that evening, he even called me and walked be through.

And that is aside of his highly regarded skills as a tuner.

BIG loss for the community.

And unbearable loss for his family and close friends.

Really gutted and sorry to hear this sad news, Daz was a highly respected member in this community.

Daz was a great guy and he will be missed. He helped us all out a lot and is a big loss for the community.

Mike helped me out so many times, at all hours of the day and night, without asking for anything in return.
He was the most influential person I've never physically met.

terrible loss to the community. I've come to learn a lot about his generosity and good nature extended far beyond this forum. He has been and will always be in my opinion a staple for this forum/community.

R.I.P Daz

Over the past few years Mike became a good friend of mine. We met in person a few times and he made a trip to my house. I met with him a few weeks back and we traded some parts. We met because he contacted me through this forum. I could contact him day or night when I had an issue and he was always correct even though I'd sometimes double guess his advice.

He was an intelligent, super generous, funny guy. I feel honored having known him. The information I have is that he passed in his sleep because of pneumonia. I hadn't heard from him in about a week and I chose not to bug him even though we never went more than a week or two without some sort of question of banter.

His service is in his hometown of Burlington flats ny. I feel terrible I cannot make it but I love 13 hours away and it's too short of notice. I plan to send condolences to his family and feel for them deeply as I lost my brother at almost the same time I met Daz. Truly a loss.  He was always willing to lend a hand, and go way above and beyond to help.  RIP

even though this is my third or so many times seeing a thread like this it still doesn't seem real. Mike aka daz was a honest and great guy to deal with from tunes to just information in general he would answer questions at any given hour of the night this is a great loss over all to the community and as a friend..

Daz, in heaven all cars are boosted, there is no knock and the only fuel is gasoline and meth.

Just a huge loss.  I never understood why he wanted to help everyone as much as he did, but he's was a great man for it.  The world and the community will never be the same.

Because it's easy to correlate lyrics with emotions:

"I never knew for sure,
what a wonderful man he was,
until the day I found out his cause was to do it for all of us."

When I first read this last night I didn't want to believe it. The forum still showed him online, like he always seemed to be, helping all of us understand and tune.

I never met Daz but felt like I had because of Nefmoto. I am gutted for his family and friends. The world has lost a great man. So selfless and kind. RIP Daz. You will be missed by more people than you probably ever imagined. Count me as one of them. Godspeed brother.

A lot of genuine things said here by people that didn't even know him, and I'm one of them.  He never had a bad word to say on here, and I feel like that would have carried on throughout his life. 

He's one of the reasons I'm still reading and learning here.  He will be missed by more people than he can imagine.  :( Rest in peace.

Very Sad news.

One of the most influencial people on Nefmoto and a true gentlemen. I never met the Mike but have spent the last 4-5 years working on various projects and helping where I could with parts in return for learning from him.

I can say a member of nefmoto his experience and knowledge will be missed and very hard to find someone who would give advice and help so freely without reward.

RIP DDillinger! Hopefully your family can find the strength to carry on with their lives with great memories. My wife's car will forever be grateful for your help getting it back on the road when my china garbage BDM burned up the original ECU.

I just had two times contact with him, but I got to know him as a very nice and helpful guy.
Does anybody know what happened to him? He was still so young...

A lot of people seem to be asking what happened to Daz, He passed away in his sleep do to Pneumonia.
Those of us that really know Daz(Mike) know that this is to simple of a cause, that really his skills have been required
on a different level. I figure one the gods (and not a minor one) Odin, Sol, but most likely Loki have drawn upon him
to provide them with tuning, which was only one of his great many skills. The real scary part on this is if you knew Daz
you would know that him spending his days with the likes of Loki is going to lead to more trouble than the neverealm will
most likely be to handle, but atleast it will be fun when we get there.



           Before anyone gets upset this is satire and Mike would have laughed.

I'm so sorry Mike.   You will definitely be missed.

I just today found out this horrible news.
A great loss to all.

Have not been on Nefmoto in some time but this is very sad news :'(, he helped out in the majority of threads and i'm sure he is sorely missed by all.
A wealth of easily read information has been left for people like myself who just don't pick things up instantly, because he had the patience to do so.

I've been off the site for ages and just read this. Daz was incredibly helpful, patient, and responsive. This is a huge loss to the community, and I will miss him.  :(

Whaaaaaaaaat! This is a big shock!! I've not been on the forum for a number of years since 2013 when he and Vdubnation walked me through my ecu coding process to solve a few issues. Awwww ..May his soul rest in perfect peace.
