Title: Golf gti Mk6 K04 fueling issue
Post by: the dog on April 27, 2016, 10:49:29 AM
I am trying to tune a Golf mk6 GTI with a med17.5 ecu.
The car has a K04 ,  S3 8v injectors ,Loba HPFP update and second fuel pump update from USP motorsport.
I am facing a problem tuning the car. I could not find the HPFP pressure request map for starters so I left it where it is.
I  did not change the RQUAHDPK SKHDPMX VHDP since i do not know the values for the LOBA mk6 tsi fuel pump. If anyone knows ,pls post.
THe lowest I get is 126bar and the highest at high rpm is 150 bar.
I am logging the lambda regulation channel 1 and I can see that in high gear from 5000 rpm with the car at 1.8 bar I get a lambda regulation of 25% that goes up to 6000 rpm and then the throttle closes to protect the engine.
My injector ms is at 10.2ms all the way to 6000 rpm.
Can I raise the fuel pump pressure like we did on the med9? what is that map called?
Is it normal to run out of fuel like that with all this updates?
Did I do anything else wrong? Maybe the injector timing ? if so what is that map called so I can copy the s3 8v map to the gti..
Can any pro help?willing to pay

if you have 10 ms injection you just haven't got enough fuel.
Rease fuel pressure first and see how it adaptation is after than.
And look if requested fuel pressure follows what you programmed in the map.
If not than ecu thinks it can't make the requested fuel and lowers requested pressure.

Why such a change of hardware? Stock GTI fuelling components will support anything a K04 will throw at it.

The 8V ECU is Simos18/19 - you won't be able to copy maps from it do MED17.

If you don't know how to tune this basic stuff you asking for maybe you should not do it!.?
Get a Damos and a FR and start read.

Also why change injectors? there is fuel in stock system to max out a stock K04.

Audi S3 8V is Simos 12/18

You wouldn't believe me if I said that's what I meant to type. Why 18/19 came out, I have no idea.

I tune the car and its working but I am maxed on injectors duration and I want to fix it. already made 340 whp..
I am trying to learn this basic staff .. I have tuned a lot of denso/aftermarket ecu already so I dont see the problem in trying to lean to tune more ecus.
The injectors were change before I got the car so I had no choice but to tune it as it is. There is no way to get the needed information to calibrate the 8v injectors to the mk6?
Does anyone know the RQUAHDPK SKHDPMX VHDP values for the loba or should I leave them as it is?
I have a damos for a similar gti mk6 but I have no FR. Where can I get one for this ecu? Willing to pay.

I followed your advice and install back the stock mk6 GTI injectors
The car now was less fuel than what It had with the 8v injectors.
I am getting 155 bar at 5800 rpm with a injector ms of 10.2 ms and the throttle is starting to close.
I am using the stock calibration for the injectors.
That's with a k04 turbo over boosting to 1.8 bar and slowly drooping boost to redline...
I am using a loba HPFP and a USP motor sport rear pump update

I tried to raise the HPFP pressure by changing all 6 HPFP maps. I am getting more pressure but I am not sure If i change the correct maps.
Anyone know that name of the HPFP that I must change?

Are you logging HPFP? Are you getting the extra pressure you're asking for in the logs? Are you seeing the reduction in injection time that you'd expect?

If you have a definition file and ORI you'd attract more suggestions as folk are able to pour over the file. MED17 is quite new to me; I'm currently learning MED9 which is probably the closest to MED17.

You need 180bar and maximum LPFP demand.
