Title: Pulled a file from ME7 and CKS is wrong?
Post by: n0ble on May 22, 2016, 12:01:45 PM
Hey,

So i pulled the attached file from a ME7 1.8T.

HW: 0261208115
SW: 1037366379
Engine: 1.8L R4/5VT
ECU Part No: 06A906032MJ 0003

To the best of their knowledge the car has not been modified but has changed hands a few times, as i do not have a collection of ORI file i cannot compare.

Am i right in assuming that this file is not original or ECU possibly has a board installed?

Or

Also why is part of the CKS incorrect, I thought the car would not run if this was the case?

If i try and flash the ORI back to the car it seems to fail at around the point of failing to erase ECU and gets to like 6% with Kess, if i try to flash a mod'd file it fails straight away.

Thanks

Tuned file. Only thing I see strange starts @ 0x8F664 right after one of the normal checksum blocks. Also something @ 0x12800.

NP. Those two areas I mentioned were not known map areas (to me anyway), so that may explain the difficulty you're having with sums, and flashing, but that's just a guess.
