i did get the bin dumped with mpps, i guess theres no way around opening it up and bdm the immo?

yes... im using a china cable sw v 1.4, changed com's to 3 "yours may be different" , put a battery trickle charger on the car while i read the flash

i used china clone mpps cable v13 , then i think i went from Mpps Setup v12.0.0.6 then switched to 3.0 , i also i think i let it update , think it updated my clone cable however try at your own risk, my clone now works with 3.0 also i believe

if you need help just reply , to change coms you need to config a file in the folder

or, you just run the program as admin and it does all that for you automatically when it opens.

Oh another thing. Yeah I was on 64bit win7.  You need a old windows xp laptop.  I tried run as admin and compatibility mode.  You need xp

It will not work not matter what OS you use with it. It is not my attempt to be a smart ass.
I assure you I am speaking from experience it will go bad.

i already tried to set him up legitimately, in person, about a month ago. he declined. let him do what he wants and learn the hard way.

set me up? sorry if it slipped passed me, you talking paying $500 to mirza to do a OTS tune? or was that someone else? we are all here to learn, i dont mind paying someone here to help.... this is just a daily beater, i dont need a full blown tune...... i apologize if i missed your help...  ive already learned a lot each day, i average about 2 hours or so reading , i had someone tell me they have flashed hundreds of me9.1 via obd "mpps" with out any issues "shrugs" im not saying im right at all.....

Pay me $500 how did i get in this mess lol Yes you can flash MK5's all day do millions without a issue . The protocol for b7 is different and the clone just fails. It doesnt matter if its immo off or on just fails.

As MPPS don´t work... what can make it by OBD ? Kess, FGtech ? or just old BDM100 ?

I'm being told to have bdm100 on hand with full backup.

And it won't be over obd

genuine mpps, x17, literally any genuine tool.

The more experienced guys are saying the clones will brick or can brick. I'm reading on a bunch of different sites that the clones work fine but can brick so to have a full bdm100 back up for safety.

I'll find out soon enough once I have a full backup

Nothing to do with it being a clone. A genuine MPPS v13 won't do it either. My Kess V2 does it fine.

who the hell is using a genuine v13 mpps? that is years and years old at this point.
but yes, you are correct, it is the protocol that is the problem, not the clone itself.

Probably not a huge amount lol. I found v13 bricks ME9 ECUs in the Focus ST, but v16 works fine (and quick). I always take a BDM before trying though

i guess i get lucky sometime's, just backed up my ebay ecu also using v13, it does crash sometimes though, not worth risking without having a bdm backup

That's what I've been told. Got a full Bdm setup on the way. ;)

Of course writing will crash it. When you read, you read. When you write, you erase blocks then write. If any of those blocks fail, the whole ECU is useless. MED9 will let you recover via the port though.

x2 I've done it as well, are you also using the Genuine Kess v2? Or does the clone work?

It's a clone and it works like a champ. I still use MPPS v13 to write to MED9 as its only an 8min30 write (Kess is 13), but it writes Ford/Volvo ME9 in like 60 seconds.
