Title: need help!!!! EDC15VM ECU Post by: vwnut8392 on October 04, 2011, 07:46:27 PM i made some mods to the file for my buddys 2002 jett TDI and when i reflashed it the car seemed to take it ok but it wont run and when i try to access te ECU with vag com i get too many communication errors. i used a galletto 1260 cable to read the original flash and upload the new flash to the car. is there any way to put the ECU into boot mode like an ME7 ECU and make it take the stock flash back? im screwed at the moment. please help!!!!!

No you dont. EDC15 is C166 based processor and therefore can be boot moded. On top of that EDC15 is impossible to crash, and any decent flash tool can recover it. The reason you see "too many communication error" in vag com is because the ECU is not in run mode, but in recovery mode. Title: Re: need help!!!! I know about boot mode but when you have ecu opened desoldering is safer than boot mode flashing ;) Title: Re: need help!!!! EDC15VM ECU Post by: vwnut8392 on October 07, 2011, 02:06:43 PM well my chip burner supports the chip but i dont have the adapter to burn that chip. what tool is suggested to attempt to reflash in boot mode?
Title: Re: need help!!!! EDC15VM ECU Post by: cam on October 09, 2011, 02:27:44 PM You can go to bootmode following steps:
1. pin 24 of 29F400 memory chip connect to ground 2. switch ignition on 3. write without ecu identification if not worikng try this: 1. pin 24 of 29F400 memory chip connect to ground 2. switch ignition on 3. disconnect pin 24 from ground - DO NOT switch ignition off! 3. write without ecu identification |
