Title: Boot mode help - Post by: andrew8527 on June 19, 2016, 06:52:08 PM Have an ME7.5, MTM chipped 518F box that I'm trying to IMMO defeat:
(http://media.fotki.com/1_p,rtqkqddfkbqdwtdxsgdtkrtrbqs,vi/bsfgbftkkxwfqgwskgbxbskdqqwdg/4/48510/325829/FullSizeRender2-vi.jpg) I have been unsuccessful in getting into boot mode though and would appreciate any troubleshooting tips. I have a purple eBay cable configured as such: (http://media.fotki.com/1_p,rtwtqtggsbsgfrfxsgdtkrtrbqs,vi/bsgbrssfgxbsfgbftkkxbrqsqrkst/4/48510/325829/drivers-vi.jpg) Bench voltage is 13.5. I've tried grounding the boot pin (24) for various lengths of time from 2 to 10 seconds but I keep getting an immediate 'check cable' error - very quickly. I believe the cable to be good though, as I can connect via OBD with VAG Can commander. In addition, it is recognized by the Nefmoto flashing tool and connects via OBD with the Nefmoto tool. Thanks in advance. Title: Re: Boot mode help - Post by: aef on June 20, 2016, 06:06:33 AM try it with baud rate of 57600
Can you see the underside of the mtm board? Title: Re: Boot mode help - Post by: andrew8527 on June 20, 2016, 10:00:08 AM thanks, I have tried all possible baud rates.
anything in particular you're looking for on the underside of the mtm chip? Title: Re: Boot mode help - Post by: andrew8527 on June 20, 2016, 10:59:55 AM special tools required or just a steady hand and patience?
same nyet as over on Audiworld? ;) thanks. Title: Re: Boot mode help - Post by: Carsinc on June 20, 2016, 05:59:53 PM It might slip right off. I'm not sure soldering is needed
Title: Re: Boot mode help - Post by: nyet on June 20, 2016, 08:18:37 PM It's clearly a simple socket. Pull gently and evenly.
Title: IMMO off please Post by: andrew8527 on July 13, 2016, 09:37:37 AM Turns out the bench harness I was borrowing from a reputable forum member had a fault in it. After reconfiguring it, I was able to download the 95040 on the first try.
Now, could someone assist with IMMO OFF please? ;D Title: Re: Boot mode help - Post by: Carsinc on July 13, 2016, 11:50:31 AM I'm sure someone will help, but could you please just try,

Title: Re: Boot mode help - Post by: andrew8527 on July 19, 2016, 07:23:14 PM thanks for the tips so far, was able to verify checksums on my immo defeated .bin. Now, I'm back to needing any boot mode tips!

Any other "variables" you'd recommend changing.....file name? location of the program? Thanks. So you always get verification is what you're saying? Anyways, thanks for the confirmation marty and carsinc - the write seems to have worked, and I was able to start the car, no immo light. Title: Re: Boot mode help - Post by: Carsinc on July 21, 2016, 07:24:55 PM Hey it worked who cares if it verified?
