Title: "general reject"
Post by: skinnytirez on February 28, 2010, 01:25:22 PM
So after 2 months of waiting my KWP 2000 cable finally showed up...
I was able to extract my .bin file from my ECU, edit out the O2 sensors and that's where I hit a wall
When trying to flash the edited .bin back to the car in the "progress information" box it starts programming ECU, then displays "general reject" and stops all progress
I have the battery connected to a charger, and the instrument cluster fuses pulled... what am i missing?

thanks for any help

btw i'm using VAG ME7 software

What ecu are you working with? or upload your bin. Try without pulling instrument cluster fuses.

I have a diferent version of me7 but in my case contrary to what I've read kwp2000 can't write to ecu if I pull the instrument cluster fuses.

also, is a-box compatible with a more popular s4 ecu like m-box?

All you need to do is swap to a Hitachi MAF and you can run M box code.

Can you change MAF linearization table instead?

Not sure, never tried that.

If this ECU is out of a 2000 S4, then I believe they have a bug in their KWP2000 flashing protocol. I ran into it while testing my own flashing software. You will have to use boot mode.
