Title: strange fuelling problem
Post by: Giannis on October 22, 2011, 12:08:29 AM
Hello everyody in the last few days i am trying to fine tune my car. I have a basic tune that is ok but i want to do some fine work as ignition corrections lower than 3 and fuel corrections lower than 2% but i noticed that although my fuel is ok until 1 bar of boost, from past 1 bar till 1,4 bar (the maximum i reach)i have correction of +12%. Do you think that there is something wrong with my tune, or my fuel pump or injectors have maximized their performance? My car is an 1.8t stock injectors  4bar fpr stock fuel pump.

Firstly, have you modified KRKTE to take account of the 4 barg FPR? I presume this is a mod since 3 barg is normally stock on 1.8T motors?

You'll have to tell us what you've changed in your tune and post some logs and perhaps indicate what you think the problem is, otherwise we will all just be guessing the same as you.

The correction is +12%, not -12%. I think here is a problem with fuel pump .

Fouled injectors?
Choked fuel lines?
KRKTE reduced too much?
LAMBTS values/factors incorrectly adjusted?

All pointless speculation until Giannis gives us more information.

Hi Giannis.

It would make diagnosis a little easier if you just let us know the changes you've made rather than posting the entire .bin file.

I agree, it probably is the fuel pump.

I have changed  a LOT of thinks mostly by reading and understanding one by one the basic modules of the ecu (ignition fuelling etc) and comparing some original and tuned files from different cars. The think is that in all boost values my fuel trims are excellent exept from 1bar boost and above.
That's why am thinking that my fuel pump reached it's maximum flow capaility. Thanks again for the help i really appriciate this.

What are your injector duty cycles during WOT runs? Remember that I have the stock 3 bar FPR and stock fuel injectors and I manage about 270 bhp with very small LTFT (both around 1%) so a 4 bar FPR should NEVER reach its limit in this application unless faulty as we have speculated.

Yes you are right but you have the 225ps engine with bigger injectors... Anyway i must measure my fuel pressure thr time the correction aplyies. Thank for the concern.
