Post by: azibi_130 on October 28, 2011, 03:05:25 AM
i thinking to buy a BDM clone (china http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BDM100-ECU-Re ... 45fc515ddb), could someone give me feedback about a general ecus that this tool works without problems?
and other question, does this seller sends all the necesseray items to sucessufully backup an ecu (i read that for edc17 we have to have an adaptor??)?and why on sellers site doesn't say that this tool does edc15?

why doesn't work on edc15?
and edc17 i think it needs an adaptor, is it why you say that doesn't work on edc17?

BDM clone is only version 1250, which is well out of date.

Both have the wrong processor to work in BDM mode.

Why is there no EDC16U31 boot recovery option? And how is it that MPPS can save it if bricked? What is special about this ECU?

Thanks!

if you want to make full backup:
edc16+ME9: BDM100 (no bootmode possible)
edc17: new BSL100 from EVC (1800€) or bootstraploader (byteshooter, optican...)

normally good tools can read and write most of them by OBD!

There is no bootmode for this ECU? So everything (immobilizer data etc) is stored in EPROM in this ECU?
