Title: Does anybody have a labeled pic of chip functions inside me7 ecm?
Post by: Mechsoldier on August 08, 2016, 09:15:52 PM
What I'm looking for is a diagram that shows what all the chips handle? I mean obviously we talk about the two main ones we deal with for performance tuning and immobilizer coding. However if there a labeled diagram showing the coil and injector driver, etc?

Or am I just going to need to follow the wires that trigger the primary coil windings for the coils, and ground the injectors to find them?

Great question. Not that I know of, but it would be easier to look up all the part numbers of the chips than to trace netlists imo.

ignition driver is 30397. there is also a picture on this forum with descriptions of the controllers.

Would that work? Aren't some or most of the chips just generic chips? I started sort of tracing and it looks like they're just triggering transistors....

Great find. Sucks that all the links went dead. Did anyone manage to DL these while there were still up?

The picture in that linked thread is pretty good. I did some tracing ME7.1 and 7.5 a while back and came up with about the same.

The PSO-36 IC which was labelled as 'unknown' on that picture is the "system basis chip", I forget the actual bosch PN off hand:
- 3x 5V regs. one for mcu/ics, one/two for sensor supply
- K line interface
- VR sensor interface (for crank sensor)
- couple enable pins, so the ECU can 'keep alive' after ign is off.
- probably something else im forgetting.

(at least that's what the SBC does on the V6 ME7.1 I traced. might be a slightly different, newer one on ME7.5).

That 80 pin QFP seems to replace most the functions that the secondary MCU + 28PLCC knock IC did on ME7.1. (knock isnt labelled on it in the pic, but it interfaces with knock sensors for one)
