Title: Help on find PIN in immo2 Post by: febomax on August 23, 2016, 07:15:22 AM Hi, i'm trying to study the immo2 of my car (Italy A3 1.8 Turbo 4 of 1999) because i need to swap instrument cluster, do to led problems. I 'm trying to retrive PIN from dashboard using Vag Commander 2.4. It reads the instrument eprom that i saved but givea a worng pin, i tried to log-in wit vag-com but it is refused. It gives 6392 as wrong login. I tried to change km of dashboard and it has worked without problem, so the cable and the software seems ok.
I read that the PIN is visible in hexdump of the IMMO2 eprom but i don't know where. Is possible any help ! Thanks a lot to all ! :) Title: Re: Help on find PIN in immo2 Post by: febomax on August 23, 2016, 07:16:15 AM vag-commander 2.5, error up...sorry...

Title: Re: Help on find PIN in immo2 Post by: febomax on August 23, 2016, 09:53:01 AM Yes , taht is!
:) Where is in the hex DUMP ? Just to understand ... I put a note that i found in other forum, very IMPORTANT : i made a wrong login (i put all 0000 just to try) and after tried with the correct pin. Login FAIL again. So i supposed that pin was wrong. ERROR : the pin is correct ! AFTER A FAILED LOGIN YOU MUST LEAVE THE IGNITION ON FOR ABOUT 15 minutes to "reset" the instrument module !!!! IGNITION ON ! Vag-com was right, i only want to understand in dump for my satisfaction... Thanks !!!! Title: Info on disable IMMO2 Post by: febomax on August 25, 2016, 01:10:30 AM Hi, i'm trying to swap my FIS broken cluster with a similar, IMMO2 both.
I'm not able to code the keys to new cluster, probably the reader or the transponder of the key are gone or low power (it still works on old cluster!). I made lot of time the correct procedure with vag-com (i have pin of both cluster, got with vag commander) but nothing, no kay match. >:( So i'm only thinking what can i do. Solder FIS on "new" cluster (little tricky) on the new or DISABLE immo2. In this immo2 disabling it is made with ECU or in cluster eprom ???? I read differente opinion , i know immo2 is also in ecu but it's not clear for immo2. So is not clear what i must do to disable immo2 (if is last hope...) Thanks ! Title: Re: Post by: macxxx on August 25, 2016, 05:09:53 AM You disable immo in Ecu.
You are doing something wrong , write some more - what car , what year , part numbers of clusters etc. You dont need the pin of your old cluster , you put in the new , login with its pin , adaptation channel 00 , then login and key matching. Title: Re: Post by: febomax on August 25, 2016, 06:21:09 AM You disable immo in Ecu. Thanks for reply. You are doing something wrong , write some more - what car , what year , part numbers of clusters etc. You dont need the pin of your old cluster , you put in the new , login with its pin , adaptation channel 00 , then login and key matching. I make the procedure (very easy in theory...) for IMMO2 key matching of Rosstech. I have pin of old cluster (useless) and of the new, got with vag commander and working (login is accepted) Cluster part number 8L0919880A (was L the original but is the same) IMMO2 both. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Immobilizer_II_Key_Matching_(Cluster) I have vcslite and vagcom 3.12 software with cable (working usually perfect on my 1999 Italy A3 ) [Adaptation - 10] Enter 21 in "Channel Number". [Read] The "Stored Value" is the number of keys currently matched. Enter a "new value" corresponding to the total number of keys to be matched, including any existing keys. Any old keys are automatically being cleared. All keys, including existing keys, must be matched at the same time. [Save] [Done, Go Back] [Close Controller, Go Back - 06] Repeat the following steps until all Keys have been matched: Switch Ignition OFF and remove Key. Insert the next Key and switch Ignition ON. The Immobilizer Warning Light will light up for ~2 seconds, wait until it goes out, indicating that the key has been matched. I make in this way, when i put the key (i have only ONE key) the immo light go out and engine starts BUT if a close the igniton and turn ON again it start blingking again ! And again...and again... In the instrument log i find (after some trying...) 17978 - Engine start blocked by Immo. 01176 - Key 65 - 10 - Unauthorized - intermittant 01176 - Key: Signal too Low 01179 - Incorrect Key Programming 35 - 00 - So i suppose somenthig wrong with the trasnponder/receiver. THe key is working perfectly with "old" cluster (that has only FIS broken). Any idea ? ??? Title: Re: Info on disable IMMO2 Post by: adam- on August 25, 2016, 07:17:08 AM Mine did this recently. Once programmed, cycle the ignition but leave it on for 5 minutes without trying to start. I think the can-bus on mine refreshed and it allowed a permanent start now.

After that key match Title: Re: Info on disable IMMO2 Post by: febomax on August 25, 2016, 08:12:06 AM This was what i did before key matching. That seems working.
Only a doubt : someone say to swich ON BETWEEN a minute (so BEFORE a minute) other to wait AT LEAST a minute without turning on... Thanks, i'll try to wait 5 minutes after key matching.... ::) Title: Re: Post by: macxxx on August 25, 2016, 08:41:02 AM The 8l0919880A is a immo1 cluster , 8l0919880L is a immo2 cluster - that is why it doesn't work
The key immo transponder is diffrent - immo1 is id13 , immo2 is crypto48 Title: Re: Post by: febomax on August 25, 2016, 08:43:25 AM Wait if both of the cluster are vdo you can write the old dump into the new cluster Just to understand : WHAT happens if i write the "old" cluster dump into the "new" ?The key is matched directly ? ??? I can make a backup and try with vag commander... :o Title: Re: Post by: macxxx on August 25, 2016, 08:45:52 AM Read my edited post i have checked the part numbers
Title: Re: Post by: macxxx on August 25, 2016, 08:49:43 AM But you can try on your own risk to change cluster dump but as i remember in a6 c5 the dumps are diffrent immo1/immo2 so in a3 will look similar. I think it wont work.
Title: Re: Info on disable IMMO2 Post by: febomax on August 25, 2016, 09:10:40 AM Woowwwww that's a big problem...
So possible solution are: - disable IMMO in ecu ? - swapping FIS display ? Thanks a lot ! Title: Re: Post by: macxxx on August 25, 2016, 09:19:10 AM I don't know your abilities but i would swap the display.
Title: Re: Post by: febomax on August 25, 2016, 09:25:58 AM I don't know your abilities but i would swap the display. I'll give to my friend to do.And a (for sure) STUPID idea : what if i buy a transponder id13 and put on my key (or a key with transponder inside)? Is possible to match the key after ??? THANKS A LOT ! Title: Re: Info on disable IMMO2 Post by: febomax on August 25, 2016, 09:41:14 AM And what about a VAG IMMO Emulator ?
20 euro... Can disable this IMMO and blinking light ??? Or light stay ??? I only need new FIS with few problems as possible... Thanks again to all... ;) Title: Re: Post by: macxxx on August 25, 2016, 11:46:13 AM You can try with id13 , as i remember it worked in someones a6 c5
But i think leave the money for soldering Title: Re: Info on disable IMMO2 Post by: febomax on August 25, 2016, 11:55:48 AM Thanks !
For soldering the problem is not the money, but i.m always LOT afraid of people doing that :-) If they cook both dashes i'm fu%%ed ! For that i prefer "soft" solutions... Maybe i'll try a IMMO EMULATOR, i found for 20 euro...not a big money... ::) Title: Re: Post by: macxxx on August 25, 2016, 12:08:00 PM I change lcd screens in clusters it's not that complicated , never fried any dash
Title: Re: Post by: febomax on August 25, 2016, 10:38:24 PM I change lcd screens in clusters it's not that complicated , never fried any dash Is broken not only the lcd but also the back light. I broke (my mistake) the electronic plate on the back disassembiling it.Is a 5x2 cm plate that has the logic of lcd and backlight. Is the two cluster is the same so i hope to move from "new" to old all...Just for info if i make a IMMO OFF on ECU is possible to put the immo1 dash without problems ? Title: Re: Post by: macxxx on August 25, 2016, 10:49:54 PM Yes , but as i know you will get blinking immo light - use a masking tape/remove led or match keys to cluster ( new id13 transponders needed )
Reading your description i guess its a old style vdo with lcd ribbon connected on the back of the cluster? Title: Re: Post by: febomax on August 26, 2016, 12:24:19 AM Yes , but as i know you will get blinking immo light - use a masking tape/remove led or match keys to cluster ( new id13 transponders needed ) Thanks for all infos !Reading your description i guess its a old style vdo with lcd ribbon connected on the back of the cluster? I'll send a pm about details... Title: Info on 95040 reading Post by: febomax on August 26, 2016, 12:31:04 AM Hi !
I have a 06a906032cb ECU, in a A3 1.8 Turbo Quattro AQU engine. I read the eeprom with me tool but i think it's wrong. The strange is that i read in obdc and in bootmode way, all seems ok, on screen all data of ecu seems correct but the dump is "out"... Any idea ? Thanks ! Title: Re: Info on 95040 reading Post by: yxx499 on August 26, 2016, 01:41:32 AM What means dump is out?
I think your EEPROM was read correctly. Title: Re: Info on 95040 reading Post by: febomax on August 26, 2016, 01:57:47 AM Correct ?
But is "out" of any definition i see here in the forum. Out i mean not correct... The 95040 tool cannot read key or other info for example. Lookiing ar hex dump with editor the data are different in layout (usually for example inhex 32-33 there is the pin, here two ff) Thanks ! EDIT: i understand, the tool cannot decode immo2 data. So the dump CAN be good ! Thanks ! Title: Re: Info on disable IMMO2 Post by: febomax on August 26, 2016, 02:49:48 AM And if i make an IMMO off in ecu (using dump and me tool in boot mode) can i connect the IMMO1 dashboard or i'll have problems ?
All working ? Immo lights blinking or not ? Thanks ! Title: Re: Post by: macxxx on August 26, 2016, 03:04:05 AM Immo light will blink
Title: Re: Info on disable IMMO2 Post by: febomax on August 26, 2016, 03:35:02 AM So if i don't undestand bad with IMMO off :
- the ECU and engine work correctly, whitout problems or shut down - the vdo cluster itself complaints about no matching keys, so led blinking and errors in log of instrument channle. Is right ? The same tha using a IMMO emulator ? Is just to learn all info ! Thanks. Title: Re: Info on disable IMMO2 Post by: adam- on August 26, 2016, 03:36:01 AM Where are you from? I've got a brand new (BX PN) IMMO2 FIS cluster. Don't need it; can ship.
Title: Info about correct IMMO off file Post by: febomax on August 26, 2016, 04:08:55 AM Hi,
i made this immo off manually, using info found in internet. The 95040 made similar result BUT with lot different code... Which is right ???? THANKS !
