Title: Boost control issues midrange using KFLDRL
Post by: seany260 on August 24, 2016, 02:31:29 PM
Evening,
I thought that my car was pulling a little to hard in the part throttle areas and a bit erratic, so decided to log and see if what I felt was true.
The issue is boost is higher than what it should be, N75 is always higher than what is set out in KFLDRL, note im trying to control boost using n75 only. What I dont get is that I thought what was set out in in KFLDRL is the absolute max n75 should ever be and never higher, my full throttle runs are bang on target.

Im running a K04 Hybrid with a slighty stronger actuator(10psi).
log is at 60% accel pedal request

appreciate any pointers thanks

The pid goes through KFLDIMX first to pick an initial (pre linearization) duty cycle. Then that duty cycle is filtered by KFLDRL and comes up with your after linearization duty cycle output sent to the n75.
Log before and after linearization and you might find why youre requesting a high duty cycle. Also will give you an idea of what data cells on the DRL map youre actually in.

"n75 only" will never work right if you are trying for a fixed duty.

Fix your req boost and let the pid do the work.
