Title: Smoothing Tables
Post by: adam- on September 13, 2016, 12:42:58 PM
Hello,

Going to spend a little more time later on tonight, but how do you smooth tables?

AFR could do with smoothing and I want to start with the table values.  Timing should be addressed too.

How do people do it?

Look at 3d graph and smooth high and low points?

It's hard to make out because of the original overlay.  I'll look at turning it off; but it's still a bit "meh".  Other options?

You know, I've been meaning to post a topic on this as well... I feel like i was able to turn off the overlay at one point so I could do exactly this... but now I can't figure it out again.  That overlay sucks on the 3d view.  It's hardly ever helpful.

Does anyone know how to disable the reference file overlay on the 3d view?

If we're talking about WinOLS then in the top row there is choose reference version button. Right next to compare button. From there select to compare with current file not original nor any previous version.

Bingo.  Would still be nice for a little maths.

Comparing to the current version doesn't work if you want to lower values.  I swear I had found a way to just hide the compare overlay completely.

Configuration (f12) ->View -> 3d-mode

Change "Original Values:" to "Show Version Only"

This disables the overlay.

WinOls - Edit > Interpolate

from the manual:
Use this command to replace the selected cells with an interpolation calculation of their neighbors. For this the selection needs to be rectangular (or one-dimensional) and there must be a border on each side that is not part of the selection, in order to have a base for the calculation. For cubic interpolation 2 unselected cells must exist on each side, but it creates "rounder" values and is better at continuing trends.

This function can also be used on axis data.

Shortcuts:
Keyboard:        I

Keyboard:        Shift+I (Dialog will be skipped)

This function can also be used on axis data.

Tried a few times to do that, and it wouldn't allow. Said "selection can't touch the border". Tried it many different ways (not selecting the ends, etc.) , but still no go.

I havent tried it, it was just what the manual said. Axis data is not that much work to rework yourself though :-)
