Title: wastegate actuator Post by: SB_GLI on September 07, 2016, 10:51:46 AM Most of these cars have issues with actuators. I am battling an A3 who's actuator seems to lose tension once the engine bay gets hot. When cold, the wastegate flapper is firmly seated. Once stuff gets hot, the arm pushes out and the flapper is no longer seated to the housing. Is this one of the common issues with the actuators? Does this happen even if you add more preload to the actuator? Something else worth noting and that is that the boost feed taken for the N75 doesn't have the same pressure the map sensor sees, it seems that because its placed in the scroll fairly early on the pressure is less at this point than actually in the system, it kind of gives a false impression when mapping.. Adding a 3-4mm more preload on the rod bottomed the actuator out. But hey just my opinion and not like I haven't done both to know... rod comes from stock actuator with some M6 thread to connect it with kinugawa im using this guy for a 1.5 years with my hybrid turbo. at cold winter and hottest summer days and there is no noticeable difference no rocket science here or just chinese gt28 actuator which perfectly fits at K03 turbos (second picture - gt28 act with own rod) (https://a-a.d-cd.net/92de5f4s-960.jpg) (https://h-a.d-cd.net/82bc20es-960.jpg) |
