Title: Immo pin. What is wrong with this bin file?
Post by: Slaol on October 22, 2016, 09:14:39 AM
Hello,

I am trying to obtain my immo pin but the file i have extracted seems to be different from what i read. There is FF FF in place of where the pin should be.
Is the data encrypted/moved around?
The car was tuned by Unitronics by another owner and I read that it is possible that they may have modified things to lock the car in to their tools.
Apart from the pin, i would like to know the reason the file is different if anyone knows.

Why do you need the pin from ecu?

I broke the rfid transponder chip while trying to do a aesthetic upgrade to my key by transplanting the guts to a new shell.

You just need the pin from cluster , luckily you have a vdo so use vag eeprom programmer 1.19 with kkl cable or K+can commander to read the cluster eeprom.

You dont need the pin from ecu

Yes, you have an IMMO3 ready cluster but an IMMO2 ECU - and therefore the ECU doesn't have or need to know the PIN. As suggested, VAG EEPROM Programmer 1.19g will work excellent on this cluster to extract your PIN.

He's lucky to have the midline cluster by VDO , usually they are produced by Jeager/Magnetti Marelli ( piece of s*** ;) )

Woooo!! Thanks a million.
I had an older version of  K+can commander software which didnt work. Version 2.5 worked.
I did however think i was reading from the cluster initially, thanks for redirecting me. Must have missed something due to stress.

Immo matched with the new RFID chip. I can now also make a backup key too.

Again, thanks!!
