Title: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: UM-Olli-92 on October 25, 2016, 01:08:51 AM Hi everyone
I'm going to convert my 1999 narrowband s3 to wideband. I ordered a 032HJ Ecu for 60€ :-) and my first idea was to run the car with the 032hj file and copy the needed values from a S3 file (maf, injector scale etc...) Because I thougt it is very complicated to disable egt. Now I red that I only have to set CDATR, CDATS, CLAATR, CLAATS to 0 and it will be fine. Is that correct ? If yes would you think that it makes more sense to use a S3 file for example 018J ? I have a good xdf for it so I would lile to use this one. Thanks in advance Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: mss on October 25, 2016, 02:17:40 AM It'll be much easier and faster to run 018J then changing so many values in 032HJ. Remember about eeprom too.

Thanks in advance 32hj ecu will be fine and just run the 018h software on it coding out the stuff you don't have IE EGT. Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: Apsik on October 25, 2016, 02:14:15 PM I can provide you with flash and eeprom from 8N0906018BH ecu.
I always use this software for wideband conversion. I have kp for it to make "OFFs" easy. Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: Black_A4 on October 25, 2016, 11:05:16 PM Wo do we need to change for this conversion? Just the O2 sensor?
Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: prj on October 26, 2016, 12:18:04 AM Hardware wise you need to run a few extra wires, change the O2 sensor and fit a different connector.
Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: _nameless on October 26, 2016, 03:39:33 AM The hardware end you are removing 1 o2 sensor from the harness and adding a new sensor that has 2 more wires then the previous sensor. You'll also need to code out vvt or add it. Swap ecus take care of your eeprom for immo on the new ecu and calibrate for wideband. Really any wideband me7.5 from a A chassis car will work fine. If you have a 6 speed use a 6 speed file or you man not have cruse control in final drive.
Good luck. Marty Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: prj on October 26, 2016, 03:41:05 AM Well, besides VVT there is SAI, rear o2 and so on, but coding that out is not a hardware thing.
Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: UM-Olli-92 on October 26, 2016, 05:15:11 AM Thank you all for your replies ! :-) and special thanks to "aef" for his help via Facebook
The 032hj ECU just arrived and I was able to read out both 512 byte eproms. (old and new one) old Narroband ECU is 018N new Wideband ECU is 032HJ My old ECU has FF FF at this point where the login code has to be. I attached the files and two pictures for a quick view. Does it mean I have to replace 5F 26 in the new file with FF FF and the car will start ? If yes, than I have problems with calculating the checksums :-( Could one of you please be so kind and fix my new file that I can put it back on the ECU ? Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: sonique on October 26, 2016, 09:25:52 AM why not use original s3 wideband sw ?
and eeprom ? just need reflash ecu immo off i think need not skc code different problem need code out rear o2, vvt, egt, and enable LAMBTS component protection function and remove engine sai not necessary and factory code out s3 sw .. Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: UM-Olli-92 on October 26, 2016, 01:49:27 PM I just made an immo off for 032hj and flashed 018J Software to it with no Problems.
Tomorrow I will start to code out EGT and VVT as said at the beginning of this thread. What do I have to change, for the ecu to know when its time to switch to KFLBTS ? When is has no egt sensor anymore... Thanks Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: mss on October 26, 2016, 02:50:15 PM You can adjust fueling via LAMFA
Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: sonique on October 26, 2016, 03:15:29 PM wrong
no any protection part throttle lamfa use only wot other way very bad fuel economy @UM-Olli-92 why not 018BH ? 225hp version 18j 210hp Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: mss on October 27, 2016, 12:49:17 AM Maybe, but I've never seen a car reaching high EGT at part throttle.
Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: UM-Olli-92 on October 27, 2016, 01:56:59 PM I just went for a test drive with the new ecu.
The car runs absolutly great ! Much better than before. Very smooth and good to handle. @mss That means I just have to disable EGT (and VVT) and ECU will follow LAMFA? Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: sonique on October 27, 2016, 02:06:19 PM Maybe, but I've never seen a car reaching high EGT at part throttle. maybe ;) maybe melted engine :) :D Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: mss on October 27, 2016, 11:09:12 PM @mss That's right. That means I just have to disable EGT (and VVT) and ECU will follow LAMFA? Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: prj on October 27, 2016, 11:11:47 PM Maybe, but I've never seen a car reaching high EGT at part throttle. Maybe you need to learn to tune then. Lambda 1 at 3/4 throttle will get you there VERY fast.Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: UM-Olli-92 on October 28, 2016, 01:55:05 AM When I set CDATR, CDATS, CATR to 0
Leave TABGSS at 934,99°C is ok or should I change it ? Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: mss on October 28, 2016, 02:30:50 PM Maybe you need to learn to tune then. Lambda 1 at 3/4 throttle will get you there VERY fast. I don't say I modify only last row ;) Anyway, I will take a look at it. ThanksTitle: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: prj on October 31, 2016, 08:09:36 AM I don't say I modify only last row ;) Anyway, I will take a look at it. Thanks If you modify lamfa at part throttle you kill fuel economy because enrichment happens when it is not needed. There is no sense to ever modify anything BUT the last row in LAMFA, or over 95%. Agreed 100% As usual prj is right, IMO Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: roman_tyk on December 30, 2016, 01:08:16 PM guys,
I did conversion on APY. Use software 8N0906018BH, coded out o2, sai and vvt by codes (CDNWS, ESKONF). Till now no faults on engine, LTFT trims looks ok, but i have problem on original BAM software with actual boost, it's 0.2bar under required boost, n75 duty cycle is not going up! Looks like software is cutting boost. Is there any maps related with VVT which should i touch? Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: warsuperior on March 27, 2018, 04:47:43 AM Any advice how to do conversion? What wires from lambda to what ecu pins?
I have 032HJ ecu waiting for conversion and LSU 4.2 lambda and lambda connetor Also would appreciate(can pay if want) if anyone can give me files that delete IMMO, SAI, second o2, VVT and EGT I have KKL cable and galletto cable. Im just very new to mappin scene Title: Re: Audi S3 Wideband conversion Post by: tonins3 on April 20, 2019, 06:16:22 AM hello, also make a conversion to wideband in apy.recomienda engine the file of 018j to restore control of the engine as close to apy stock but with broadband? sai eliminate vvt o2 back etc ... would also have to modify linearizations of maf and the calculation of injectors (tvub). I am currently only looking for information to have a base-I will share all my advances to help make the conversion to others ;) ;) ;)
