Title: New car, old ecu read out
Post by: madeindk on November 08, 2016, 10:31:02 AM
So, i bought a new car, and want to use the file i got from the other car.
My tuner says i need a brand new file.
Is that true or does he just want to earn some more money?

He says you need a new immobilizer file?

This is the mail from him when i asked for help

"Pass to your ECU the immo and VIN from your car and from other car and it will work

Elsewhere you need to buy new file for new car

New immo key + VIN =  new car

immo OFF ECUs are not supported also"

He's basically saying the tune is tied to the vin because thats how he coded it.

If you want to re-use it on a different car, you have to clone the vin.
