Title: solution for A4 B5 on chipping , dont want to change chips Post by: andernalin_junk on November 15, 2011, 10:42:48 PM Hy My car , 99 A4 B5 1.8T has a custom chip (tuned by a uk tuner thru our lacal dealer ) My problem/question is like that : my ECU (558E) has an original chip that is not re-writeble and i cant burn/flash the ecu thru the OBD2 port and we must manualy open the ecu and change chip (allready made a socket so we wont have to weld ) I'm looking for solution that we can do chip thru the OBD2 port and dont need to mess with the ecu even if its says that i need to fit a diffrent ECU THX Title: Re: solution for A4 B5 on chipping , dont want to change chips Post by: RaraK on November 17, 2011, 06:06:26 AM put in a ECU from junkyard, or solder in an original 29fxxx chip into the ecu.

Title: Re: solution for A4 B5 on chipping , dont want to change chips Post by: terok on November 18, 2011, 01:59:21 AM You could adapt Golf/A3 1.8T ecu, which is M3.8.3 and with 29f200 chip. There's also equivalent A4 ecu with same flash chip, for example 8D0907559C (have not seen it, but file size is the same 256k). I think this is US model, so might be harder to find.
These can be programmed via OBD (not with all tools), if you connect a wake-up voltage to ecu pin 43. Your car might already have a wire routed from this ECU pin to OBD pin 13. |
