Title: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: tnel20 on December 24, 2016, 03:56:47 PM Anyone have one . i done know how to make a cfg file.
need to log to adjust my 2.7 in a b6 s4 thanks Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: nyet on December 25, 2016, 04:13:33 AM Anyone have one . i done know how to make a cfg file. need to log to adjust my 2.7 in a b6 s4 thanks Uh. You just log speed and rpm. Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: tnel20 on December 25, 2016, 10:52:09 AM i was looking through this thread
http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=4979.msg51392#msg51392 where prj stated You don't need any other files, what you need is just log nvquot_w from the ECU in each gear and set the boundaries correctly. thats why i was asking . Sorry i searched to try and find a way to do this and this is what i found .i get it you know how to do all this already but i do not . i tried adding nvquot_w to the cfg file but it still didnt show up in visualme7logger screen. i can log rpm and vehicle speed but i dont know what to do after that. i dont know the calculation to set this table up so this is the stock mbox 1st 250.02 - 97.01 2nd 100.01 - 49.00 3rd 50.00 - 38.00 4th 41.00 - 31.00 5th 33.00 - 26.00 6th 27.80 - 19.00 so in a log of a 3rd gear pull at 6750rpm im doing 83mph Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: tnel20 on December 25, 2016, 10:53:02 AM Also merry christmas
Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: nyet on December 25, 2016, 03:13:20 PM Divide rpm by speed in each gear.
nvquot is LITERALLY rpm/speed, there's no need to log it directly. Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: tnel20 on December 25, 2016, 07:09:30 PM ok so in my log at 3500 rpm/ 43.49 mph that equals 81 and 6750 / 83mph =81
its linear so that doesn't equal the map , that is just showing me revolutions per mph. what am i missing here Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: nyet on December 25, 2016, 08:45:01 PM Why would it not be linear? Do you have a magical transmission? Or cvt? Why are you using mph and not kph?
Please review the FR. It describes in detail how gear recognition works. The NV quote table is a set of ranges. If the ratio lies in the range, that is the gear that the ecu detects it as. Which range does rpm/kph in each gear lie in? Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: tnel20 on December 25, 2016, 09:26:59 PM Thank you for answering the ? i asked , i really appreciate it .
I didn't say it wasn't linear. I actually stated it was .There is no need to be a dick dude. i searched here for answers . Though i found one , tried to get it to work on my own and couldn't .So i asked . I dont have a copy of the fr. If you dont want to answer then dont easy as that. Its not like i asked a ? that's all over the forum. Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: AARDQ on December 26, 2016, 12:14:16 PM The Tuning FAQs leads you here (at a minimum): http://files.s4wiki.com/docs/. The FR can be found there. The ME7.3 doc is in English, but the 132_kW_ME7 is much more complete.
Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: nyet on December 26, 2016, 12:21:07 PM Fine.
do this: calculate nvquot for each gear (NV1, NV2, NV3, NV4 etc) 1st: 250 and (NV1+NV2)/2-1 2nd: (NV1+NV2)/2+1 and (NV2+NV3)-1 3rd: (NV2+NV3)/2+1 and (NV3+NV4)-1 ... 6th: (NV5+NV6)/2+1 and 19 Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: tnel20 on December 26, 2016, 04:59:54 PM I was honestly thanking you for answering my question . i get what i needed to do from that
I dont know why i converted it there , other then i was comparing my 3rd gear pull to a buddys b5 s4 drivetrain and seeing the mph difference in the 2 at the same rpm . when doing rpm/kph im about 51 so i see why my 3rd gear is showing up as a 2nd gear pull . Title: Re: 551 cfg with nvquot to log Post by: pudeleq on September 19, 2020, 10:23:50 AM Sorry for digging, but I can't solve my problem. My cruise control don't work on 6th gear, after gearbox swap. It's allroad 2.7 c5 with M-box ecu. Now I have much longer ratios, I want to change nvquot for 6th gear, I've found these bits (https://s4wiki.com/wiki/Tuning#Gear_detection), but values from s4wiki don't match, with values of tnel20.
I've got: (HEX in narrows) 1. 125-48 (7D-30) 2. 50-24 (32-18) 3. 25-19 (19-13) 4. 20-15 (14-0F) 5. 16-13 (10-0D) 6. 13-09 (0D-09) Am I doing something wrong? These values don't even match with stock values. Thanks for help! |
