Title: Strange LDR behavior on high rpm, desired boost not reached
Post by: roman_tyk on December 31, 2016, 07:33:19 AM
Hi guys,

Car: S3 after conversion to wideband
MAF: ori S3 BAM
VVT/SAI/O2/EGT = OFF
turbo: hybrid
SW: 8N0906018BH 0261207751 362999

KFDLULS/KFLDIMX/KFLDRXO/LDORXN/RLKRLDA/KFLDHBN - moded
KFNSWE/KFNWKHLLE/KFNWKHE/KFNWWLE - moded

I have problems with actual boost, which always drop down under specified on high rpm.
Looks like some intervention is adjusting PID control, n75 duty when we have underboost is not raising up, just stay on 75-80%.

When i loaded original BAM without any mods except (vvt+egt+o2), the same issue was visible (200mbar under specified boost).

Log I-part, modify IMX if necessary. Check KFLDRL too.

i raised for tests IMX up to 90-95% for specific boost, it doesn't help.
This issue occures also on ORI BAM software
On previous SW (narowband APY) the same HW configuration was working properly boost specified=boost actual.

Maybe something is wrong due to disabling VVT.

Impossible to tell w/o better logs.

what shall be added to logger ?

I limit, pre lin wgdc and p, i, and d.

Although I can guess your IMX is very wrong without it.

Nyet, please note that on ori software 18BH (with moded only krkte+CDNWS+ESKONF) i have similar issue, underboost 200milibar, and n75 duty cycle is not going up at all.

log 115:

log 118:
http://vaglog.pl/log-003_118_020_2NS9L2.html

.. i will check KFLDRL (but i think there was 95%)

Please post ME7Logger csvs

on ori SW car was logged only with vcds..

I still dont see any PID variables.

Anyway, possible mechanical issue. boost leak (bpv?), intake hose collapsing, or maybe just out of turbo if you can't find anything else wrong.

Also i don't see throttle plate angle.

waiting for car owner.. variables added to logger..

Hi Guys,

I managed to collect some logs on new binary
This is time, actual boost almost meet desired.
Problem is just visible on high rpm above 6000rpm.
I left KFLDR in stock, KFLDIMX for high rpms adjusted to 93% (0.9bar) and 95% (1.05bar).
Please help with further investigation, I have still n75 duty cycle below 90% above 6000rpm

Log I max and wg pre lin

Ok new binary, new logs containing following variables:
ldtv        ; {}   ;
ldtvm      ; {}   ;
ldrdtv      ; {}   ;
ldptv      ; {}   ;
ldimn_w      ; {}   ;
ldimxak_w    ; {}   ;
lditv_w      ; {}   ;
ldptv      ; {}   ;
ldrlms_w   ; {}   ;
ldrlts_w   ; {}   ;
lde        ; {}   ;
ldimn_w     ; {}   ;
ldimx_w        ; {}   ;
dlahi_w      ; {}   ;
dlahp_w      ; {}   ;

This time problem is visible from 6100rpm up to end.

You're almost out of injector anyway.

Taper boost.

If you aren't willing to do that, ramp DRL up so flat wg req results in flat boost.

Also, fix your overshoot after ramp. IMX is an incomprehensible mess during spool.

Seriously, dude, what the hell is going on here?

You're almost out of injector anyway.

How do you assume that? maximum injection time is 16ms in the logs.
I tried many times to tune KFLDR but  it gave more worse results then keeping it in stock.

I am adding two maps.

Fix the terribad I limiter behavior, fix DRL.

yea seems that we dont know how.. did you check maps posted by Roman ? shall we check anything else ?

Follow the input to the map and figure out what cells are being used during spool.

The ridiculous curve is immediately obvious.

"Left drl stock" "fucked up dimx"

Understand the input to the DRL map and bingo... you should find your problem
