Title: MBC Overboost Issues... KFDLULS, ELDOB, etc.
Post by: lave3k on November 22, 2011, 03:14:25 PM

Hello, really could use a hand with this....

I'm having some problems disabling over boost on my 03 A4 1.8t.  I have an MBC in parallel with N75.  It is tuned to spool as quickly as possible, the N75 goes 100% and the MBC intervenes.  No issues with over boost at full throttle but part throttle building boost and then tapering off throws over boost/limp sometimes.

This image seems to have KFDLULS in place of the KFLDRXO and LDORXN maps in most 1.8t's, I have tried raising those values as well as setting the entire table to FF and am still getting overboost when you throttle it just right.  How can it be completely disabled in these conditions or what can I do to open the allowable deviation further??

Thanks in  advance :P

Zero out TLDOBAN

Thanks Rick,

Looks like TLDOBAN may already be zeroed.  I've got three 8x1 maps that fit the bill, assuming the order is the same as what I've got in some Damos files then I've got:

TAB2DOBN as the first which is just FF's

TLDOBAN as the second which is 00's

TLDOBN as the third which is C8's

Would you suggest zeroing out all three?

kldlul?
I think there is no KDLULS if you have KFDLULS.

Well I think I mistook KFLDRAPP for KFDLULS, which would explain the code persisting?

I've attached the binary as well as an OLS file with the over boost related maps.  If any one has the chance to take a peak at these and can identify either KFDLULS or LDORXN/KFLDRXO or anything else to get some better control over overboost that would be awesome. ;D

In the binary:
TAB2DOBN @ 1A16C
TLDOBAN @ 1A174
TLDOBN @ 1A17C

KFLDRAPP @ 1A1BF

Thanks

Well being that TLDOBAN was already zeroed out in the stock tune, I'm assuming it is a different method being used to handle over boost in this ECU, and it seems logical that KFDLULS and the like may not even be present/relevant.  (I've searched extensively)

I've tried zeroing out the other time related over boost maps to no avail.  Anyone out there have any experience with a different way to stop the car from going into limp mode? ???

When it comes off throttle it simply cant settle fast enough it seems... a hair over a second to get back to ambient.  Again it doesn't over boost at full load just partial then lift.

Thanks

I got your message,

but i'm flat out at the moment doing commercial tunes so haven't had a chance to look into it, sorry.

0x27f3f KLDLUL
hPa is data, 8 bit factor of 5
rpm is axis, 8 bit factor of 40

whats kfldhbn look like?

um, i think you know whats going on otherwise.  If you cannot figure it out, shoot me an email with your file or ols. i can give it a look. I dont have a def for this, and im not going to bother working it out as i have other projects going on right now.  but willing to help what i can.

KLDLUL did it 100% ;D  Thank you Rarak
Only addition is that the Axis might actually be hPa as well rather than RPM, Factor 10 and interpret as a signed value.

I've got a pretty good definition for this that I'll put up in the definitions.
