Title: Revo tune - flashing over it
Post by: ianpgonzaga on February 20, 2017, 01:20:29 AM
hi all,

tried to read a ECU pn# 8N0 906 018 BJ (s3 8L) and it seems the car is now in valet mode. no boost. no power.

i am wondering if i can just overwrite the file with a generic one and work on the tune from there?

thanks!

IIRC you'll also need to flash over the Eeprom too as Revo touch that also...

Nah, fresh write over the ECU EEPROM and flash.  Bootmode.

Nah, fresh write over the ECU EEPROM and flash.  Bootmode.

So i need to get a virgin EEPROM? His ECU is the same part number as my ECU.... will the EEPROM (with the IMMO, VIN etc. changed in HEX) be OK to upload onto his? The flash i have is also pulled form the same ECU part#....

I pulled the EEPROM from his cluster so i have that information

Does this mean there's a way to be able to "activate" the aftermarket tune??? what needs to be done?

thanks

did a short logging session (roads too busy) but you can clearly see full load is not being requested even when foot is on the floor

Also, if you were somehow able to find a Revo SPS, that would save you too.

Yeah going to get him to go to a revo dealer to check the tune
