Title: ignition pull at low rpm's after replacing K03 -> K03S Post by: CQ1 on March 28, 2017, 11:04:56 PM Question for more experienced users.
After replacing turbo K03-> K03-073 passat B5FL-1.8T AWT i get strange timing pull between 1-2k RPM. It's randomly on all cylinders. Sometimes i see even 8 deg cyl retard. Above this rpm range everything is ok. I'm using VCDS to monitor this. There is no pre load set on WG, but it's boosting much quicker than the old one. Lowering KFZW in this area does'n help much. Anyone got any idea what could cause this and how to solve it? Title: Re: ignition pull at low loads after replacing K03 -> K03S Post by: nyet on March 28, 2017, 11:23:34 PM Log with ME7Logger
Title: Re: ignition pull at low loads after replacing K03 -> K03S Post by: CQ1 on March 28, 2017, 11:40:02 PM Log with ME7Logger Attached. This log was made on standard KFLDIMX from AWT. Small overshot. Filter data need to be disabled to see those timing pulls. I've been trying with KFLDIMX from AWM engine - it's a bit lower than AWT. There is no overboost, but there is still timming pull at range 1-2k rpm's. Log with KFLDIMX from AWM (second one) attached. Those timming pulls mostly hapen on 1-2 gear. I will try to do one more log from those gears. Title: Re: ignition pull at low loads after replacing K03 -> K03S Post by: CQ1 on March 29, 2017, 12:14:08 AM Attached. Maybe some other noise causing kr? Title: Re: ignition pull at low rpm's after replacing K03 -> K03S Post by: CQ1 on March 29, 2017, 12:44:53 AM Odd. Loose or dying knock sensors? Maybe some other noise causing kr? Before replacing the turbo there was no knock. This is also not a problem of fuel, because i got same on lpg. There is no preload on WG. It's almost loose. If i will minimaly tighten WG plate, things gets even worse. If the other way, Kr's go down. The worse i've seen - bellow. Does anyone been adjusting actuator on those turbos? Setting up preload on it is not an option, because every each time i got huge overshot peak. WG plate need to be practically loose. Seems like quick spool is causing this. Title: Re: ignition pull at low rpm's after replacing K03 -> K03S Post by: CQ1 on March 31, 2017, 01:44:37 AM Odd. Loose or dying knock sensors?
