so after looking at the s4 wiki i bought an ebay eobd 2 reader. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EOBD-2-OBDII-OBD2-Galletto-1260-ECU-Program-Diagnostic-Cable-Remap-Flasher-Tool-/331206074611?hash=item4d1d6ba0f3:g:xGgAAOSwmtJXU0wm i have installed the drivers provided and interestingly it doest come up as a com device is that correct? after loading nefmoto i can see my cable in the device box listed as "EOBD2" but when i click connect slowinit i get "Failed to read test echo from FTDI device. Make sure the cable is in dumb mode and connected to the OBD port." ignition is on. i've added some screen shots. this laptop is windows xp and has a built in comport to save any confusion. any suggestions? thanks gareth the n00b Title: Re: need help with first time connecting.
